Wedding Party

Meet some of our family and friends who will be helping us out with this special day.

Jian-Min Liu

Mother of the Bride

Katie Smillie

Mother of the Groom

Qiang Cai

Father of the Bride

Dan Hungerford

Father of the Groom

Amanda Cai

Matron of Honor

"As my older sister, Amanda in part raised me. She watched me when our parents were working and walked me to school when she was just a kid herself. She even hid a dollar under my pillow once when I told her I wasn't going to tell our mom about a tooth I had lost to test my theory that the tooth fairy wasn't real. I'm grateful to her for convincing our parents to let me watch age-inappropriate horror movies as a child and adopt a cat when we were growing up even though I was allergic (RIP Bammy)." - Catherine

Eli Hungerford

Best Man

"A boss in all respects. I met him in North Carolina when he was born. Definitely my favorite brother by far. He's also the brother I've known the longest. He embodies many traits that I lack and respect. I don't know what I would do without him and look forward to the many adventures the future holds for us." - Noah

Brian Regan

Bridesman

"Brian and I became friends in 9th grade, when we were both loner new kids, and I impulsively passed him a page of stream-of-consciousness ramblings I had written during extreme boredom in world civ class. We quickly bonded over Bright Eyes and Oz Pizza. Since then, we've added snark and anxiety as major pasttimes. We've been friends for more than half of our lives now. We disturbingly send probably 100+ texts to each other on average every day (#codependency). Also, he still has that note from high school!" - Catherine

Russell Honderd

Groomsman

"Russell is one of my favorite friends and bullies. We met around the age of 6 at Quaker meeting and quickly bonded over video games, nerdery, and fireworks. To date we both still have strong passions for all of them. We continued this friendship even through different high schools and his penchant for bullying people he loves. After high school he became one of my true followers. He followed me to the same college, proposed to his girlfriend just after I did, and moved back to Atlanta just after I did. Those are the types of people to keep around!" - Noah

Jessica Li

Bridesmaid

"Jessica is my oldest friend. We met at one of our parents' parties we were about 7 years old. She introduced me to her stuffed dog, Muffin, and I showed her my stuffed cat, Salem (to this day, we remain respective crazy dog and cat ladies). From Harry Potter books, to Chinese school, to homecoming dances, to medical school applications, we pretty much did everything together. In college, we also developed a fool-proof algorithm for weeding out bad dates: no if he doesn't like animals, Chipotle, or South Park (intellectual copyright pending)." - Catherine

Trap Seabrook

Groomsman

"Trap and I bonded after we had both been spurned by a particular middle school girlfriend. We enjoyed being part of rival gangs (kneebows and the hoodies) during our highschool years as well. After college we even lived in the same house for some time. He is a ride or die friend that keeps me from doing things that might just be a little too crazy. I ain't letting him out of our friendship till I pass." - Noah

Jenny Goldberg (Jennay)

Bridesmaid

"Jennay and I bonded in college when we decided to go in on some Thai food together during a particularly desperate all-nighter in the library. She tried not to pay me back. During the 2 weeks she stayed with me after graduation, we just lay on the couch playing Scramble with each other on our iPhones. Almost a decade later, we still love Thai food and puzzles. We enjoy doing the NYT crossword together (our streak is 54 days), and we plan to start a cat ranch when we are retired and rich." - Catherine

Bobby Stegall

Groomsman

"Bobby and I met on the lawn of our first party experience in college. We immediately bonded over the sillyness of upper classmen thinking they were so high and mighty for being just a year or two older. We were pretty much inseparable after that. We always easily have fun no matter what we are doing. When life gave us a backyard and some garden poles we quickly made a game of javelins and hunting cans. There is always fun to be had when we are together." - Noah

Jon Grenadir

Bridesman

"Jon and I met when we lost the housing lottery and were assigned to live in a literally rat-infested dorm as freshmen. Between living in the same dorm, taking the same classes as pre-meds, and then working in neighboring research labs (Jon didn't actually do any research), we spent a lot of time gadding about Emory together. I enjoyed going to a ton of SAE events with him, even the time I showed up to an all-black event in a yellow dress because he neglected to tell me the dress code. I saved his life from Four Loko at least once." - Catherine

Christian Gossett

Groomsman

"Christian and I became fast friends in college with a love for foosball and goofing around. He's one of the few people who could give me a run for my money on the table. As we were both psychology majors we crushed enumerable group projects together while looking fly at the same time. Whether it's playing hackysack and dancing till early in the morning or drinking on Lebanese beaches we always have a good time." - Noah

Ann Powers

Bridesmaid

"All outcasts at Paideia High School eventually find each other and band together (hi Brian!). I credit the many late nights spent raiding her parental gastronomes' refrigerator with our love for good food (although I still add extra salt to my McDonald's fries, an unsavory - or very savory? - habit I picked up from her in high school). Somehow we survived our teens, but we still love making Harry Potter puns and listening to 2000's screamo boy bands. Her childhood cat never fully recovered from our oppressive affection." - Catherine

Tyrone Snowden

Groomsman

"Tyrone is the only friend who I have taken a picture of and made a shirt out of that picture. I'm pleased to say he also has a shirt of me as well. We met in middle school and became really close friends when we moved in together near East Atlanta. He's captured and been a part of some of the best roman candle fights we've ever had. And because of him I was able to be a part of multiple hip hop music videos. I hope when I move back to Atlanta he won't be far." - Noah

Lizzie Morgan

Bridesmaid

"Lizzie and I have known each other since high school, but we didn't become great friends until later in college, when she decided I was no longer "scary" and I overcame stereotypes against girls who love horses. As it turned out, we both enjoyed crashing frat parties for the free drinks, smashing cheese fries at Famous, and worrying about the multitude of exotic medical conditions we might have. Lizzie recently graduated from veterinary school and landed a job in Atlanta, but that's only temporary until she takes the full-time position at the cat ranch (see Jennay)." - Catherine

Costi Quffa

Groomsman

"Costi and I became friends at Earlham and I don't think I've ever met someone who loves throwing rocks just as much as I do. We've recycled quite a bit of glass on Sunday afternoons back in the woods. I've traveled to more different countries with this fool than any of my other friends and I can't wait for what the future holds for us next trip!" - Noah

Joey Fullerton

Groomsman

"Joey and I became fast friends in middle school and high school. I am pretty sure I've spent the night at his house more than any other I don't live in. I still fondly remember many late nights with gushers and swiss cake rolls galore. He's one of the only people I've heard talk in his sleep and it shows how much we have in common that he mentioned a goblin in his dreams. I look forward to visiting again and seeing his daughter as she grows up!" - Noah

Josh Lee

Groomsman

"Josh and I met when I had dyed hair and went to the rival high school of his. He didn't hold it against me and we spent multiple hundreds of hours driving around in the cars he had during high school. I've always enjoyed the circuitous routes he would take which led to many a late night prank or visit to waffle house. A Belgian waffle if you please!" - Noah
