We were set up by a mutual family friend (many thanks, Marsha!). We went on our first blind date in June 2020. Having gone to rival high schools and colleges, we hit it off right away. After hours of chatting, we learned that we both had played travel soccer, grown up 13 minutes from each other, and even gone to the same sleep away camp, Sandy Hill. There are many things we do not have in common, though, which has made for so many fun dates. Over the years, Kevin has taught Catherine how to play golf, and Catherine has shared her love of movies. We are thankful to have found love despite meeting during a global pandemic!
Over Memorial Day weekend, Kevin asked Catherine to try one of the newest restaurants in town, Brandywine Brasserie. Before we left for dinner, though, Kevin asked to stop for a drink at the bar we went to when we first met. We sipped on mixed drinks as we reminisced about the "to go" cocktails that we had walked around West Chester with (thanks to COVID restrictions) on that very first date together. When we arrived at Brandywine Brasserie, we sat in a booth next to the professional figure skater, Johnny Weir. While Catherine was busy chatting about how cool it was to sit next to the Olympic figure skater, Kevin told Catherine that he had an important question to ask her. Then he got down on one knee and proposed. She immediately said yes!
