Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

RSVPs are due by September 10th.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes, on Zola! Please refer to our registry tab at the top of this page. Thank you :)

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

For the ceremony, yes. Please refer to this useful resource for information about dressing for the Traditional Latin Mass: https://latinmasshelper.com/latin-mass-dress-code/

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 3pm, so we recommend arriving anywhere from 10-20 minutes early (particularly since there is only one women's and one men's restroom in the church and lines could get long). Please arrive early enough to give yourselves enough time to get situated before the start of the ceremony.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

At St. Joseph Shrine, parking is available on the street along the side of the church, in the parking lot in front of the church, and in the parking lot next to the rectory (smaller building next to the church). At the Plymouth Meeting House, parking is available in the lots in front of the building, despite the misleading signage.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

No - Ubers are readily available, but can get pricy. There is also no public transportation nearby. We recommend renting a car for the most efficient and economical travel.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, food allergies and dietary restrictions will be accommodated at the reception.

Question

For the Catholics: Is the entire Mass going to be in Latin? How will I know what's going on?

Answer

Yes, the majority of the Mass will be in Latin. If you would like to follow along, St. Joseph Shrine has pew missals with the text of the Mass in Latin and the English translations. The missals will be available at the front door. We will also provide simplified wedding programs outlining what is happening during the Mass. If you are familiar with the Mass in English or Polish, it is the same format in Latin, plus several additional beautiful prayers that are not said in the English/Polish Mass. One pro tip for those who typically go to Masses in English or Polish: During the Eucharistic portion of the Mass (when the congregation is singing 'Hosana in the Highest' and the other singing portions that follow), the priest in the Latin Mass will continue on with the Eucharistic prayers while the singing is going on, rather than waiting until the music stops. This is an easy spot to get mixed up and really behind if you are following along in the booklets. :) Lastly, if this is your first time going to the Latin Mass and you find yourself lost trying to follow along, close the missal and simply enjoy the sacred beauty of the Mass.

Question

For the non-Catholics: Am I allowed to attend the ceremony if I am not Catholic or Christian?

Answer

Yes! Please be mindful of the sacred space that is the Catholic Church. Reverential silence is required in St. Joseph Shrine before, during, and after the ceremony. There is also a dress code that must be followed in the church. Please see this helpful resource for the guidelines that you should follow: https://latinmasshelper.com/latin-mass-dress-code/ The Mass will almost entirely be in Latin. If you would like to follow along, St. Joseph Shrine has pew missals with the text of the Mass in Latin and the English translations. The missals will be available at the front door. When the time comes for the congregation to receive Communion, please remain in your pews. If you are unsure of when to sit, stand, or kneel, just follow the parents of the bride in the front row :)
