During the first week of classes, the Boston University Catholic Center hosts a bunch of different first week events for students to get involved in. We both attended an evening BBQ event in which we happened to sit across from each other at the dinner table. We introduced ourselves to each other and immediately bonded over classical music and Star Wars, with Jakub expressing his utmost satisfaction that I was finally utilizing the beautiful grand piano in the Marsh Chapel for weekly Catholic Masses as the new music director for the Catholic Center. After a drawn out conversation about Obi-wan Kenobi and memes, Jakub stood up from the table to exit, making his good evening wishes followed by a succinct, no-nonsense "I like you" as he pointed at me and exited the Catholic Center BBQ. And the rest is history!
