Officiant
Matthew, or Matt as almost everyone else knows him, is Catherine's older and only brother. Even though he won't travel north of 14th St to visit and has yet to agree to an adult bunkbed situation to save rent, living in NYC has brought the three of them closer than ever. Matthew is always around for a dish of pasta, a rowdy debate, and an open ear and heart. Few know Catherine and Eric better as a couple, making him the only choice to officiate such a special day. Matthew is an incredible attorney by day, and chess prodigy by night.
Maid of Honor
Catherine met Malerie several times in college before realizing that she had, in fact, met Malerie multiple times. Upon being cast in NYU's production of Godspell, Catherine quickly realized that soulmates can come in multiple forms, and Malerie was one of them. Endlessly supportive and kind, Malerie has always been by Catherine's side. Few can make Catherine laugh the way Mal can, and nothing makes Catherine happier than the friendship she and Eric have formed. Malerie is a gifted writer, and will soon be following her dreams across the pond to study creative writing in Manchester Metropolitan's MFA program.
Maid of Honor
Catherine and Sarah met in graduate school, each initially drawn in by the array of laptop stickers showing how much they had in common. From running to social work, to living together and coparenting the world's best cat Zucchini, Catherine and Sarah have had endless belly laughs and heart to hearts. She is Eric's best audience for his puns, and always has an open heart and an open ear for all. Sarah dedicates her life to others, working as a social worker in a clinic supporting expecting parents.
Bridesmaid
Amy and Catherine have known each other since kindergarten, but were brought together when Amy moved back to Winchester in high school. Amy has been a constant support, travel buddy, and confidant. Her thoughtfulness and endless love of her friends (and cats) makes her a special human. Even though she lives across the pond, she is always a quick text away and her visits state side bring immense joy. Amy lives in London with her wonderful husband Alex, and kicks butt in world of marketing.
Bridesmaid
Julianne and Catherine bonded in middle school at the Winchester Swim and Tennis Club. Neither were particularly good at tennis, but could spend hours swimming, playing cards, and eating onion rings. While their pastimes have changed in adulthood, their friendship has only grown stronger. Julianne is Catherine's most frequent NYC visitor, and they've shared many laughs, hot summer walks, and nights out over the years. Julianne lives in Boston with her lovely (soon to be) husband Kevin, and is the world's best insurance data analyst.
Bridesmaid
Catherine has never called Cat "Cat" once in her life. Instead, the two have fondly referred to each other as Pig for about 20 years, stemming from a silly trip to Wingaersheek Beach in elementary school. Cat is one of Catherine's oldest friends, somebody she has always turned to for a laugh or a late night heart to heart down Mass Ave after an ice cream run. Her kind soul brings babies into the world and supports birthing parents from all walks of life, working as a nurse midwife in Atlanta, Georgia with sweet husband Ben and their perfect daughter Mara.
Best Man
Danny and Eric met at the very beginning of their time at The Ohio State University. Eric and Danny were random roommates at Siebert Hall, and they are the best pairing that the roommate matching system has ever made. Almost immediately, Eric and Danny regularly found themselves lost in conversations lasting well into the night. Danny has been one of Eric's most extensive travel companions, especially if one measures in terms of "miles hitchhiked" or "reckless decisions made." Danny and Eric lived together throughout college, and for most of Eric’s time in NYC, he has been lucky to have Danny only a short subway ride away. Danny lives in Boston with his fiancée Danielle.
Groomsman
Josh and Eric met in 7th grade, Eric's first year in public school. Before long, they were spending weekends playing pool at Josh's house, and spending school day afternoons devouring cases of Sprite Remix (courtesy of Lori). Josh and Eric's travels together have taken them from the mountains (and breweries) of Colorado to the deserts of Israel. Josh is a climber, mountaineer, woodworker, and photographer; and frankly, he deserves a lot of blame for getting Eric into those last two hobbies. Josh and his fiancée Ada live in Denver.
Groomswoman
Meg and Eric first met in their freshman year at Ohio State, when Meg was dating best man Danny. While Danny and Meg were not meant to be, Meg and Eric formed a close friendship through a shared sense of humor and love of euchre (for non-Ohioans, that is the greatest card game ever invented). Meg is an experienced facilitator of youth empowerment groups, and under Meg's leadership, Eric and Meg piloted a Council for boys at a Columbus high school. Meg lives in Brooklyn with her husband Mat and their dog Starlet.
Groomsman
Sam and Eric's friendship blossomed in their freshman year of high school. They ended up in the same study hall, guaranteeing 50 minutes a day of zero productivity. Sam has helped to nurture Eric's love of fantasy, from Lord of the Rings marathons in high school (the extended editions, obviously), to the Dungeons & Dragons campaign that Sam hosts over Zoom. Sam has spent most of his adult life in Washington DC with his wife Devin (and their dog Shadowfax), but they are currently stationed in Vienna.
Groomsman
Stav and Eric's friendship was born when their moms arranged a playdate, at the far-too-old age of 14. Despite that awkward first hang, Stav and Eric quickly became friends. If a cool band came to Columbus between 2006 and 2013, it was a near-guarantee that you could find Stav and Eric at the show, jostling to get to the front of the crowd. With "Danger" as his middle name, Stav was one of the first American practitioners of parkour, well before it became a household-name. Stav lives in Austin, where he works in media production.
