Travel and Accomodations

The Wedding Website of Catherine Van Halsema and Jay Hurdle
We feel so fortunate that so many of you are coming from far away to celebrate with us. We have a few suggestions that we hope will make planning the trip easier.

Flight

Golden Triangle Regional Airport

The airport in Columbus, MS is the closest to town - it is about a 30 minute drive from Starkville. There are 3 flights in and out of Atlanta every day. There are car rental options, but there is also a free shuttle to and from the airport (https://www.smart.msstate.edu/schedule-and-routes/gtr-express/). Other flight options: --to Birmingham, AL (ca. 2 hour drive to Starkville) --to Memphis, TN (ca. 3 hour drive to Starkville) --to Atlanta, GA (ca. 4 hour drive to Starkville)

House Or Rental

Airbnb or VRBO

Starkville is known for lots of great game-day rentals on the many sports weekends for MSU. We recommend looking at either of these home rental sites, especially if you're coming with a big group and want to split the cost of a house.

Hotel

Historic Hotel Chester

101 North Jackson Street
Starkville, MS 39759
 (662) 323-5005

This is a great locally-owned place to stay in town that has quaint rooms and a great restaurant attached. Prices are reasonable, and it's right on Main Street downtown. It's near some great restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, as well as to where the rehearsal dinner will be.

Hotel

Courtyard by Marriott Starkville MSU at The Mill Conference Center

100 Mercantile Street
Starkville, MS 39759
 (662) 338-3116

This is one of the newer hotels in town. It is not located downtown, but it is in close driving distance to lots of stores and restaurants. There is a free shuttle from the Columbus/Golden Triangle Airport that drops off and picks up at the Convention Center.
