FAQs

Question

If I'm going to drink, how should I plan to get to and from the venue?

Answer

When it comes to drinking and driving, Starkville PD does NOT mess around. You can expect road blocks, mandatory checks, and a lot of cops to be on the road, especially because this is a university town and it could be a really big sports weekend. We strongly urge you to either a) have a designated driver, b) stay in West Point, MS during the night of the wedding, or c) plan on getting an Uber. Uber will run around $40 one way, but split several ways, it's much cheaper than a DUI (not to mention, you won't have to come back to town for a court appearance)!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please do your best to RSVP online no later than March 1, 2019, so we can get an accurate count for the reception.

Question

I've never been to Mississippi - what should I see?

Answer

Starkville and the surrounding areas have a lot of cool things to discover. Some of our favorite suggestions: -Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge (Starkville, MS) -Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library at Mississippi State University (Starkville, MS) -Howlin' Wolf Blues Museum (West Point, MS) -Tennessee Williams' birthplace (Columbus, MS) -Elvis Presley's birthplace (Tupelo, MS)

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! Please be sure to let us know in your RSVP if you plan to bring children, and if so, how many.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress-code is semi-formal / dressy. The wedding ceremony will be outdoors, and even though we *specifically* chose April hoping that the weather would be mild, you also never know these days. A light sweater or jacket may be wise. In case of really bad weather, we'll be moving the ceremony indoors. Please wear what you feel comfortable and beautiful in.

Question

How can I get in touch with you if I have questions?

Answer

Please use our wedding email address, vanhurdle@gmail.com, to contact us with questions about the wedding weekend.
