Bridesmaid
She may be younger, but she's always been wiser than her elder sister. She's Cate's oldest friend, and the person she goes to when she needs a reality check. Aidan loves all animals (at times more than she loves humans), but she has a gentle spirit and would do almost anything to be there for her friends and family. She is known for her brilliance, but it is her kind heart that Cate loves the most.
Groomsman
Nick and Zach have really only become close recently, but as parents and cricket fanatics, they have made up for lost time in banter over the last few years.
Bridesmaid
Janani has been Cate's best friend since they first met at Western University, when they were both still daydreaming undergraduate students with a love for purple sweatshirts and high aspirations to become doctors in the future. Cate and Janani traversed the globe and survived medical school together; no one knows her better (literally) and no one has known more about Zach and Cate's relationship (in great detail, through every stage) - this wedding would not be happening without Janani's amazing listening skills and discerning advice.
Best Man
Yes, he introduced the happy couple. He gets a seat at the table. Zach and Vijay met whilst playing basketball together for the Basin Wildcats in primary school. Twelve years later Vijay met Cate over a beer at Father's Office, the bar that he would later introduce Cate and Zach at on their (first) blind date. Vijay has gone on to be one of their closest friends as a couple.
Bridesmaid
Shiran and Cate met at Newman College in 2015, when Shiran was studying architecture as an undergraduate and Cate was in her first year at medical school. We bonded over discussing European culture and art history over takeaway food and red wine at midnight. In theory, we have both moved upwards in life since then; Shiran now teaches architecture at university and she remains Cate's oldest friend in Melbourne and one of the most interesting people to talk to.
Best Man
Sam and Cate have known each other for four years, but sometimes it feels more like a lifetime. Cate's parents love him arguably almost more than they love Cate, due to his charm and intellect and guitar playing ability (according to Sarah). He has been there for her at some of her lowest points, and has saved her life on more than one occasion (as well as her dignity and emotional wellbeing). For the record, Sam is also single.
