Alex and Catharine met back in 2016 through work in Flagstaff, AZ. A few years later, and a move by Catharine to OKC and back, she happened to move into the apartment directly above Alex. After a few weeks of flirting, they finally went on their first date to McMillans and, of course, Mother Road Brewery - the rest is history! Alex and Catharine love to spend their free time outdoors: escaping to the mountains, hiking with their two dogs, paddle boarding, visiting Catharine’s family out on their ranch in Texas, or simply enjoying the Flagstaff sunshine, preferably out on a brewery patio.
Alex knew that he wanted to propose somewhere in the Colorado mountains and Bridal Veil Falls outside of Telluride fit perfectly. Alex tried several spots to see if they were good “photo” spots, and finally settled on an overlook that was off the beaten path - through a snow bank, mud, and a steep uphill climb. With the Go-Pro set up, Alex had Catharine pose with him and then got down on one knee. The answer, of course, was yes!
Catharine and Alex share a love for the mountains. One of their favorite places to travel to is South Western Colorado, so when looking for a venue, the area was a natural choice. We couldn’t be more excited to show our friends and family our favorite areas and celebrate with them in the San Juan Mountains!
