Dan and Cate met at the end of their freshmen year at Washington State University in 2015, at the age of 19. The two were introduced at a sorority and fraternity party over a round of the infamous game, flip cup. The jury is still out on who won the flip cup game. After a long summer apart, Dan asked Cate to his fraternity "date dash" and later took Cate on their first date, to Red Bento in Pullman. After many WSU football Mueller tailgates, dancing until the closing song at Mike Dance Emporium, one much needed haircut for Dan, the two graduated together in 2018. Dan and Cate blessed their families by living at home for the first year after graduation and visited each other a lot. This is when they learned they shared a bond of love of family. Cate was then able to finally convince Dan to let her teach him how to snowboard. The two started skiing as much as possible, (Dan becoming better than Cate). The two moved to Seattle in 2019 with friends for three years and then decided to take the big leap and move in together to the charming Eastlake Seattle neighborhood in 2022. Over the past 6 years, the two have skied many mountains, traveled to different countries, and of course watch every WSU football game together. Dan asked Cate to marry him on December 2nd, 2023 at Chateu St Michelle Winery in Woodiville, WA. He was able to trick her into a dinner party and then threw a huge surprise party for her afterwards with friends and family flying in to celebrate. The two are excited to share their big day on July 12th, 2025 with their family and friends in Suncadia, with a weekend of festivities!
