Christophe and Michelle
Julian's Parents
Julian is an only child (though he prefers solo kid) & is blessed with the best parents in the world. Their names are Christophe Sarafian and Michelle Dang. They met in college after immigrating to the US as young kids. Michelle from Vietnam and Christophe from France. After falling in love they settled down in Folsom, CA, where Michelle built a successful career as a nurse before pivoting to her PhD and attaining full professor at Sacramento State. Christophe has travelled to over 135 countries throughout his career as a seasoned tour manager and often brings back tasteful souvenirs and art to decorate their home. These days you can find Michelle out on the Petanque courts practicing her game. She recently became one of the USA's representatives for the international sport (USA! USA! USA!). Christophe continues to travel the world with National Geographic Private Jet Expeditions and is constantly being requested to manage tours for his unparalleled knowledge. They relish opportunities to spend time with Yuna and Zuko, who they undoubtedly spoil and lovingly refer to as their granddoggies.
Hung and Angeline
Catherine's Parents
Hung Ho and Angeline Lam are both immigrants from Vietnam who met at UC Davis when Angeline's friend arranged for Hung to drop off homework when she was sick. They spent several years in a long distance relationship as they pursued their careers but once reunited, they married and settled down in Davis, CA. Hung is a surgeon at UC Davis Medical Center where he is infamous for his puns and Dad-jokes (coined Ho-isms by his colleagues and residents). He enjoys reading, taking selfies, and traveling with Angeline. Angeline is a social butterfly and a talented Dentist/business woman who built a thriving Dental practice while managing two young children. She loves dancing and traveling and often shows her love in the form of immaculate home-cooked meals. The two of them have been married for 39 years with their 40th anniversary coming up in December.
Natalie
Cat's Sister
Natalie is Catherine's younger sister by just 16 months. “Cat and Nat” have fond memories growing up where they spent many hours biking around Davis, staying up late to watch Naruto, rushing to finish chores before Mom got home, and performing sometimes disastrous “kitchen experiments.” Catherine and Natalie’s careers crossed paths when Natalie worked as Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at UC Davis. She is currently a professional musician, audio engineer, and mental wellness philanthropist. She has three adorable cats (Winston, Kona, & Curtis) and fondly remembers her hedgehogs Bruce, Ron-Allen, & Yves.
Zuko and Yuna
Cat and Julian's Dogs
Zuko and Yuna are the "first borns" in Cat and Julian's family. Yuna (aka Pucci Bellies) is a social, loving dog who is always ready for cuddles and head rubs. Her favorite activity is a toss up between eating grass and torturing her brother. Zuko (aka Tubby Wumps) is an earnest, special boy. He is very cautious of his surroundings (especially of balloons) and is often scared by his own shadow. His favorite activities are playing fetch, eating, and sleeping on Cat/Julians's belongings. While their personalities could not be more different, they both bring Cat and Julian endless joy.
