We are really trying to keep this small. If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, feel free to bring a date along. If not, we would prefer that you not bring anyone whose name is not listed on your invitation. The goal here is an intimate celebration full of beloved friends and family.
The ceremony is planned to start promptly at 3 o'clock pm on SUNDAY October 14th, 2018.
Medieval! In case you didn't guess with our venue, which is A FREAKING CASTLE! We will be in medieval-esque attire, and the hall will be covered in medieval style decor. Costumes are encouraged among our guests!
A lot of happiness and love, like with any other wedding! The ceremony may be a bit different than you are used to, but at the end of the day the object of the celebration is the same; To share with you (our loved ones) our happiness, love for each other, and hopes for a bright future together. If you want to know more, we encourage you to take a look at this article from Offbeat Bride, which goes into more detail about Pagan wedding traditions: http://offbeatbride.com/pagan-weddings/
Nope! The wedding party will be in formal wear with a medieval twist, and we encourage you to get into the spirit and a costume with it. But if you are not comfortable with that, then feel free to get into the spirit in whatever formal or semi-formal clothes you would like.
Our ceremony itself will be an "unplugged wedding." When looking out at all of you, we would prefer to see the faces of our loved ones, rather than the backs of your devices. We would like each of you to really enjoy the ceremony and be truly present in the moment with us. We have hired professional photographers whose job it is to capture and record how our ceremony LOOKS. It will be your job to experience and remember how the ceremony FEELS.
Yes. There will be an open tab with the bar. We do implore you to drink responsibly if you are going to drive. There is Uber service in the area, the hotels provide shuttles, and you are welcome to make any other arrangements if you need. We ask you not to risk marring our special day with news of a drunk driving accident among our party-goers. Overnight parking IS available at the venue.
There are two main hotels nearby to choose from, and we have reserved blocks of rooms for our guests at both. There are also several bed-and-breakfasts around, as well as other hotels if you are willing to travel a little further on the day of the wedding. Please see the Travel page for details.
See our Things To Do page for some fun ways to pass your Saturday in Central New York and the New York Capital Region.
There is a nice big lot next to the castle for parking your car. *Remember, if you need to make arrangements for transportation other than your own driving, you ARE allowed to leave your car overnight*
