Travel

Nantucket in November is pure magic, twinkly Christmas trees, cozy fall colors, all the charm. The only catch? No direct flights from NY on the normal airlines. So definitely plan ahead! We’re all about the ferry scenic views, a full bar, and honestly, it’s basically a mini party on both the slow and fast rides. We’ve rounded up the best travel options below based on where you’re coming from as well as our recommendations as to where to stay for the weekend.

Flight

I'm Crossing the Atlantic

If you’re crossing the Atlantic, Boston (BOS) is your best gateway. From there, two easy ways to reach Nantucket: Option 1: A super quick flight (officially 45 minutes, feels like 15) straight to Nantucket. Pro Tip: Booking flights separately is often more cost-effective i.e. (CDG-BOS) + (BOS-ACK). Link for Boston to Nantucket flights: https://www.capeair.com/ ** Book early—these planes seat eight people… total. Arrive in Boston as early as you can if you want to make the same-day connection. The views are stunning, but it can be a touch bumpy, so skip this if tiny planes are not your vibe. ** Option 2: Land in Boston, hop on a bus or rent a car to Hyannis, and take the ferry for a smooth one-hour sail to the island. The slow ferry (SteamShip Car Ferry - two hours) will cost $10.50. And the fast ferry (Hyline ferry - one hour) will cost $40. Buses leave roughly every 30 minutes from all Logan Airport terminals, so it’s very plug-and-play. Flight

I’m Coming from NY Area

Option 1: Fly through Boston using the options above Option 2: Drive from NYC to Hyannis (about 5 hours), then hop on the Hy-Line or Steamship ferry for a one-hour sail to Nantucket. Option 3: Take a bus from NYC to Hyannis (about 6–7 hours), then catch the ferry. It’s the slower-but-simpler option.

Flight

I Want to Ball Out (and I’m Coming from the New York Area)

Tradewinds flies directly from Westchester (HPN) to Nantucket in November. A semi-private flight for a semi-private price tag. If you’re up for a splurge and want to land on island just one hour after leaving the NYC area this is your best bet.
