Emily and John first met in May 2015 while working their summer positions at the same restaurant. Despite being long-distance for almost three years during college, the couple had always known they would one day walk down the aisle together and prioritized visiting each other as much as they could.  ​Five years worth of memories later and they've discovered a mutual love for traveling the world together, bought their first apartment, and have created a lil family with their Australian poodle Kai. The couple has even mistakenly created their known nickname "Beb" for each other which they use instead of their real names. Friends and Family have even started to use the nickname with them as a joke.

John proposed to Emily on July 18, 2020 while vacationing on the beautiful island of Antigua. The two started the evening by taking sunset pictures followed by a private dinner on the beach. While at dinner, Emily thought she was celebrating John's birthday as she was told it was a  birthday present from his sister and brother-in-law who were on vacation with them. While eating dessert and admiring the sunset, a photographer came to the table to "take pictures of their dinner for the resort website". As the photographer began, John's sister and brother law-in-law came out with a dessert that wrote "Will you marry me?". Simultaneously John got down on one knee and popped the special question. Emily began to cry and forgot to answer yes. Emily and John are super excited to tie the knot in Mexico with their families and friends that have been with them since the beginning of their romance!
