We're getting hitched!

Although Cassie and Oscar are both proud UCF Knights, fate didn’t allow for the stars to align until July 2014. Just a few months shy of graduating, Cassie was visiting New York for interviews and staying with a friend (and bridesmaid), Michelle. One night Michelle and Cassie went to an outdoor movie night in Williamsburg, where she was meeting up with her friend Oscar, who had been living in New York for a couple years at the time. When they first met, they clicked but their love was forbidden because Cassie had to head back to Orlando to finish up school. Fast forward a few months to September 2014, Cassie was fresh off the boat from graduation and feverishly working 3 jobs, when Oscar slid into her Facebook DM’s asking if she wanted to go to a concert with him. Only problem: SOLD OUT. Smitten by Oscar’s charm, Cassie started her hunt for a ticket. She hopped on Craigslist, snuck out during her lunch break, took a train to the Upper East Side to grab a ticket and the next thing she knew they were sharing a few pre Glass Animals beers (and free pizza!) at The Charleston in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Oscar and Cassie officially started dating less than a month after the show on October 5th, 2014. Much to her parent’s stress, they moved in together 5 months later. 2 years later they adopted a baby kangaroo (We know! In New York, too!). And 2 years after that, he proposed! Throughout it all, they've called New York home, sometimes breaking them down, but most times lifting them up to insane new heights. It’s been their first date, first apartment, birthday and citizenship parties. Their first puppy and home cooked meals. Halloween costumes, NYE kisses, beach days and broadway shows. But now? Now is the best of all. It’s where they'll be married and they're so excited to share it with you.

There is an amazing music festival in NYC that happens every year in late July called Panorama. Having gone multiple years, Oscar saw this as the perfect decoy for his proposal. He lead Cassie to believe they were going to the festival, when in reality both of their families were being flown into NYC to pop out of bushes and celebrate their engagement. It was an elaborate surprise of a proposal that involved multiple friends and family members and much effort to keep Cassie off the scent. When Friday, July 27th 2018 finally rolled around, Cassie met Oscar in Dumbo, Brooklyn where they were supposed to hop aboard a ferry to the festival. The weather had taken a turn for the worst and before they knew it, weather alerts were going off and torrential rain swept over the city. Cassie wasn't sure if they should still go to the festival, but Oscar assured her that the festival would go on rain or shine. Walking to the ferry, Oscar suddenly stopped, pulled Cassie close and asked her to marry him. Moments later, both of their families were there to greet them and spent the whole weekend celebrating with friends in NYC. Bonus points, horrible weather made for incredible engagement shots!
