We’re Getting Married!

If you were to ask Ben, “When did y’all meet?” he’d say, “We met in high school and then she ghosted me for 10 years.” So here we are, 10 years later… Ben and Cassie reconnected through Facebook and then planned to meet for dinner three days later. The first “date not date” as they’d like to call it, lasted 3 hours and they have been inseparable ever since.

Ben and Cassie have realized that nothing ever goes to plan. Ben’s original plan was to fly back home from his Wisconsin work trip, take a day trip to the mountains, and propose there. Unfortunately, tragedy struck Western NC with Hurricane Helene, and he had to change his whole plan. He told Cassie he had a surprise trip booked and that they were leaving that weekend. Ben’s new game plan was Charleston, SC. On Saturday morning, they got up bright and early to head to the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. When they got there, Ben took out his camera so he could “take pictures” and the entire lens was fogged over because of how cold it was in the hotel room. Yet again, his plan of setting up his camera to video the proposal had to be changed. So, with no camera, and no one around, Ben proposed on a bridge at the back of the gardens.
