During Tanner's clinical year of vet school at LSU, he decided when it came time to take Equine Medicine and Surgery, he would (of course) go with Medicine. For some reason Tanner's first week on the rotation Cassie was working mid-shift and happened to be one of the only technicians available to help students. Those of you that know Tanner know that he ended up with lots of involved cases no matter what rotation he was on and Equine was no different. After meeting in a stallion stall then bonding over a mare and foal while wearing full PPE in Large Animal Isolation, Tanner quickly became Cassie's favorite student on the rotation. When it was time to move on from Equine, Tanner asked a mutual friend of theirs (Sarah Cooper) if she knew if Cassie had Facebook (she doesn't) and Sarah told him no but that she did have Instagram. Tanner then made an Instagram account and sent Cassie a message. After talking for a while and realizing how much they had in common, Tanner asked Cassie out on a day date (which she wasn't too sure about) to the Baton Rouge Zoo and needless to say it went well!
