The chapel is 22 miles from the reception venue. The drive could take anywhere from 30-45 minutes because you’ll be driving down a mountain with curvy roads. Please do not drink before the wedding ceremony, we want to make sure our guests make it down the mountain in one piece!
There is limited space at the reception venue so anyone who would like a plus one will need permission from us first! We will try to accommodate as much family and friends as we can, but we also want to make sure our guests are comfortable and not over-crowded.
Yes! While kids are allowed, we can’t promise that the adults will be on their best behavior ;) If you are bringing kids, please make sure you are watching them around the chapel and lodge. We don’t want any tiny explorers wandering off!
The main course will be some good old-fashioned buffet style southern BBQ. Meat options will be pulled pork and pulled chicken with various sauce options. Sides will be mac n cheese, green beans, baked beans, and potato salad. Please let us know if you have any food allergies!
This is the tricky one. The short answer is yes. The long answer is complicated. Since the reception will be held in a state park there are some strict rules on drinking. We are still working out the details. If you plan on drinking at the reception please be responsible and respect the rules of the park. Do not drink and drive!
Well we are getting married on a Sunday in a chapel... so I would say wear your Sunday best! You may need a sweater or coat for the wedding ceremony. It gets chilly up on that mountain.
The wedding will be from 1:30-2:00 pm. The reception will be from 3:00-8:00 pm. Everyone must be out of the park by 8:15 pm SHARP! The park ranger will be locking the park gates at 8:15 pm and anyone who has not left by then will be locked in overnight. We apologize for the strict rules, but we promise the location and views will be worth it!
