FAQs

Question

Do I need my passport to travel to the Dominican Republic?

Answer

If you are traveling from the United States, or any country outside of the Dominican Republic, then yes, you'll need a passport. Your passport must be valid through the duration of your stay in the Dominican Republic. **NOTE** if your passport is set to expire within six (6) months of your travel, you will not be allowed to travel. If you need to renew your passport, or apply for a new one, here's a link to a handy service: https://cibtvisas.com/renew-passport

Question

Can I stay at a different property?

Answer

Of course, we would prefer for you to stay at the resort we carefully selected. But we understand that you may need or want different lodging arrangements. If you want or need to stay at a different property, please understand that you will be responsible to pay for an event pass and/or day pass per person for access to our wedding events. You will also be responsible for arranging transportation services to and from this resort.

Question

Do I have to pay for my entire stay right away?

Answer

At the time you book your room, you will pay for the entire stay. However, we will keep rooms reserved up to 60 days before the wedding, so you do not need to book a room right away.

Question

How do I get from the airport to the hotel and vice versa?

Answer

The hotel provides transportation! Once you’re booked, contact Melia - Palma Real. The resort will send a driver to meet you at the airport and bring you to the hotel. Once you’re at the resort, you can book your return trip to the airport directly with the hotel.

Question

Does the resort have a dress code?

Answer

The Paradisus Palma Real dress code is generally resort casual. For most restaurants, men can wear polo shirts, dress pants, or jeans, and women can wear dresses or similar attire. Some restaurants, especially those offering more formal dining experiences, may require resort elegant attire. This typically means dress pants and closed-toe shoes for men, and semi-formal wear for women. Shorts, t-shirts, sandals, and tennis shoes are generally not permitted in restaurants with a resort elegant dress code.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Beach Formal For Gentlemen: Suits with smart-casual footwear are most welcome (please no flip-flops or sandals). Ties are most welcome but not necessary. For Ladies: Mid-length or flowing dresses, as well as pant-suits and other appropriate formal attire, in any color except white(!).

Question

Will there be transportation to the ceremony?

Answer

The beach ceremony is approximately a 5 minute walk from the resort. Golf cart transportation will be provided for guests with limitations. Please contact Jason or Cassidy if you require assistance.

Question

How far is the cocktail hour and reception from the ceremony?

Answer

A short walk

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your kids, but this is a time for mom and dad to have fun! We will have some bridal party kiddos at the ceremony and reception. However, we cannot accommodate all kids, so please plan accordingly! Your kids are more than welcome at the resort, but they will not be included in the wedding event schedule. Text Cassidy/Jason with any specific questions !

Question

What if I have severe food allergies?

Answer

Please note any food allergies in your RSVP or to Jason/Cassidy directly. Like us, this resort takes food allergies seriously and offers accommodations. You will be asked at each restaurant of any food allergies as well.

Question

My invitation says only my name - can I bring a guest?

Answer

Unfortunately, the wedding events can only accommodate the guests we invited, and you should not expect to bring a plus one unless one is included with your invitation. If you have any questions, please contact Jason/Cassidy.

Question

What is a soft RSVP?

Answer

Because this is a destination wedding, we are requesting a soft RSVP earlier than a usual, more formal response. You will not be held to this RSVP, but if you are on the fence, we ask that you RSVP "yes" until further notice.
