Matt and Cassie met on May 28, 2015 at a wedding rehearsal and grooms dinner in Minnesota. Cassie was the Maid of Honor for her cousin Diana and Matt was a Groomsman for his friend Tj. After the wedding festivities, Matt went back to North Dakota. While Cassie spent a lot of time at her cousin’s apartment... one day Diana had “dared” Cassie to prank text Matt! So, as some of you may know... Cassie does not turn down a dare! After a random text that Cassie had sent... she got an instant response from Matt saying, “Nice try, Cassaundra. Your number is linked to your Facebook.” 🤦🏽‍♀️ Over time, Matt and Cassie started talking a lot more. Matt was driving 4.5 hours every other weekend to stay at Diana and Tj’s apartment and Cassie would end up there too! It took Matt eleven months to realize that Cassie was interested in him and finally asked her out! Their relationship: Matt and Cassie were in a long distance relationship traveling from the Twin Cities to Grand Forks, ND for three and a half years! In the first three years of their relationship they traveled to 19 states together. The best word to describe their relationship is adventurous. Matt and Cassie finally moved in together in August of 2019! The Proposal: Matt and Cassie were on one of their many adventures in Montana! They were driving around Flathead Lake and stopped at a scenic spot on the lake near Big Fork to take pictures and videos with Matt’s drone. Cassie of course was too busy joking about Matt’s drone being his other girlfriend... while Matt had finally got his drone to orbit! Cassie was so excited that he was able to finally get the drone to orbit that she didn’t realize that he had turned around and grabbed the ring from his backpack! The moment was absolutely magical! They were so happy that his grandparents, Poppop and Bonnie were there to witness! Matt got the entire proposal on video. (It is posted on YouTube if youre interested in watching!)
