FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

Garden Attire: Wear sundresses, floral prints, suits in lighter hues, and fun hats and fascinators. If possible, keep to the Sunset color scheme.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

It will be pretty warm, August is typically high 80's to high 90's with lots of sun, and rarely any rain. Bring your sunscreen and drink plenty of water!

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

Both will be taking place at the Crystal Spring Rhododendron Gardens in Southeast Portland.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. The gardens are a pretty grassy area so heels are not ideal, however wedges and sandals are a wonderful option.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bride and groom will step away to get some pictures with the wedding party and family. Guests, in the meantime, can wander the gardens and mingle for the next 30-45 minutes until reception starts and food is served. There is a lot to explore in the area.

Question

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

Our wedding theme is Fae Sunset. There's lots of wiggle room in this, so bright reds and yellows, dark blues and purples. Chunky gem rings or delicate gold chains, and of course flower accessories. We want you to have fun and be comfortable.

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If you have a long term partner and we haven't met them, please email us at villaltawedding2023@gmail.com to discuss further. It's unlikely that if they weren't on the invite we won't be comfortable making an exception, however it can't hurt to reach out and touch bases, especially if you don't know many people at the event and still want to come. The sooner you communicate with us, the better likelihood of us being able to make changes.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Unfortunately at this time we do not have a hotel block, however there are many great places to stay in the area for a variety of budgets.

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Yes! We are still finalizing the details on catering, and will update as soon as we can. If you have any food allergies, we please ask that you email us at villaltawedding2023@gmail.com so we can make accommodations.

Question

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

Yes, we have gathered a list of many peoples food allergies and restrictions, and will try to accommodate as best we can. If you have any concerns, please reach out and see if we can provide accommodations for you as well, especially if you have an uncommon allergy or restriction.

Question

Are you guys already married?

Answer

Yes! We had a small intimate ceremony in May to get the legal paperwork and anxiety out of the way. There are many reasons why we did it this way, but regardless of the why, this wedding is a way for us to celebrate with our loved ones who deserve a chance to be included. We look forward to celebrating with everyone while still being present on our day without all the headache to follow.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered with Amazon. Link can be found on the registry page.

Question

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

Unfortunately, at this time we do not have provided transportation available, however we will update if that changes. In the meantime, Portland is very easy to travel around by public transportation or ride share.

Question

May I take a centerpiece/candle/flowers home as a souvenir?

Answer

Please do! If you have use for or desire for any of our decorations, we don't have much attachment outside of the bouquet and boutonniere.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We do have a professional photographer so we do ask that you refrain from taking any pictures during the ceremony, however we would love pictures during our reception. If you do take any, please send them to villaltawedding2023@gmail.com so we can save them. If you do post any pictures on social media, please tag both of us if possible.

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

You can text either of us directly, or email us at VillaltaWedding2023@gmail.com. Please no phone calls unless it is urgent or haven't heard a response after 2-3 days. We appreciate your patience as we plan everything out, we will update the information on our homepage as everything becomes finalized.
