While Peter and I had been in the same social circle for a while (due to our amazing mutual friend, shout out Bennitt), our paths truly didn't intertwine until the great Poulsbo Beer Run of March 2023. A full day of running (for Peter), drinking beers, and taking several pictures of matching tattoos with our 9 closest friends would bring anyone close together. And for me and Peter, it did just that. Since then, we enjoyed many adventures in Washington together, survived a deployment away from each other (over our 1 year anniversary of course), moved across the country together, and then bought a house together. After we bought our house, we headed to DC where Peter would run his 3rd marathon and I would happily cheer him on from the sidelines. However, that trip was not planned for the marathon, but was instead planned for our engagement (unknown to me of course). We celebrated the engagement with our close friends and family who all happily cheered on Peter (and several other of our friends) during the marathon the next day. Yes, he did still run the marathon the day after proposing. After a whirlwind of a few months, we have finally settled down in our new home in Charleston, SC and are excited to see what the future holds, hoping that it includes a beer run in downtown Charleston.
