Instagram DMs: Freshman Year to 'I Do'

First comes school, then comes marriage...

It all began in 2016, our freshmen year of high school. No grand gestures, no magical meet... Just a simple slide into the DMs. Nick, probably scrolling through Instagram in his free time (as one does aka doom scrolling), came across Casie's profile and thought, "Wow, she's cute." So, naturally, he sent a message. I mean, why not? The worst she could do was ignore him, right? They started talking, and honestly, Casie wasn't quite sure what she was getting herself into. They chatted for months about all kinds of random stuff... memes, school drama, the fact that Nick was probably the most persistent guy she had ever met. Seriously, she swears the man asked her out about 40 times. Every day, she would see him in the hallways at school, and he’d hit her with his best “So, Casie…you wanna go out?” And every time, she would give him the same polite, yet firm, rejection. She was like, "Aww, thanks, but no thanks." Casie was just trying to figure out if he was real or just some kind of strange, persistent internet guy. But Nick? Oh, no. He was determined. Every single time she said no, he came back with more confidence than before. It was like watching a rom-com where the guy never gives up… except with a little less charm and a lot more awkwardness. Finally, after months of “No, no, no, no” (he was like the human version of a broken record), She finally said yes. It was like a huge plot twist in a movie — Casie actually agreed! But there was one catch, we had to plan our official date a day later so it didn’t interfere with her mom’s birthday on March 30th. Yep, we had to avoid a “dating anniversary” disaster. So, we settled on March 31st, 2016, as our “official” date. Nick was thrilled... and she thought he thought he won the lottery. From then on, March 31st became our day, and it was perfect. She couldn’t have asked for a better guy to have by her side... even if he needed about 15 tries before she said yes. Now, looking back, she is glad she finally caved because it turned out he wasn’t just persistent — he was worth it. Plus, who else could put up with her random spurts of crying, bad jokes, and love of pizza? Nick and Casie are now stuck forever.
