We went to high school together, but never truly knew each other until we had both graduated. Casey and I had gone to a mutual friends house where while everyone was outside swimming, Casey came inside to talk to me while I made cookies for everyone. Later, on his 20th birthday, I texted him saying "Happy Birthday," and the relationship blossomed from there.

I actually asked Casey on our first date, where we went to watch the movie "Smile" at the drive in. We ended up talking and laughing throughout the entire movie, and didn't get a chance to watch it. We finished off the night at IHOP, where I was being stubborn and wouldn't let him pay for anything. When I had asked Casey on this date, he actually let me know that he wasn't looking for anything serious.... Look at us now!

Casey had stayed pretty strong on not becoming anything "serious" for a lot longer than I expected. Even though we were going on 1-2 dates a week, he made me wait 4 whole very long months to officially become his girlfriend. We started dating on February 2nd of 2023, where he drove to my friends house while it was snowing to surprise me with flowers, a stuffed animal, and a very big package of Twix.

Casey had insisted that we plan a romantic trip. His reasoning was that he was about to get his surgery, and wanted us to get some relaxing time beforehand. Casey booked us this beautiful treehouse up in the mountains of Tennessee. On our first day of the trip, Casey thought it would be a good idea to drive down to the Pretty Place Chapel in South Carolina. When we got there, it was a lot busier than expected, so he actually took me off to the side of the chapel where no one was around to propose. I said YES!
