Luka and Casey were first introduced to each other on the dating app, Bumble. After some initial small talk, they spent many nights talking and laughing over the phone, often for hours. They took this time to get to know each other on a deep level. They asked each other many questions, and before they knew it, they both felt like they had known each other long before they even met in person. When their first date finally rolled around, which was much anticipated, they took the Go train to the CNE together. That night, they held hands, ate carnival food, and went on the ferris wheel. At the end of the night, after taking the train back to Oakville, they decided to take a stroll down the Oakville peer. When they reached the end of the peer, they shared their first kiss. The kiss, however, was interrupted by a crawling noise beneath their feet. They looked to the ground and were face to face with a skunk sneaking by their legs. Holding their breaths, they stood still to avoid startling the skunk. It calmly carried on past their legs and disappeared into some rocks, making for the most memorable first kiss.
Casey and Luka planned their first trip to Europe together for months. June 14th 2024 was the day they set out on their new adventure. Spending a day in Venice, then settling for a few days in Milan, they took a day trip to Lake Como, Italy by train. Luka packed the ring in his back pack, keeping it close by. Casey did not suspect anything, as she thought it would be far too obvious if Luka popped the question here. As they entered the grounds of the beautiful Villa Melzi in Bellagio, Casey carried her tripod around, searching for the perfect picturesque locations to take photos. Luka took the opportunity to propose while the tripod was set up in front of the lake with a perfect view of the mountains. Casey thought she was setting up the tirpod to take some photos together, but Luka's sudden nervousness gave it away! As he popped the question, a boat swam by in the distance and honked its horn as people cheered in the distance to Luka down on one knee. It made for the most beautiful moment.
