Casey and James both grew up on Amelia Island their entire childhood. Unbeknownst to them, James and Casey's parents were acquainted when they were both babies, through Tim's, Casey's father, gym on the island where he worked. This is also where they met both of the kids babysitter, Gigi, but their two worlds wouldn't collide until college. While working, Casey received a phone call saying her Grandfather was life flighted to Shands in Gainesville, where Casey's best friend Megan, resided with James and his brothers. Casey stayed with Megan while her grandfather was in the hospital, and officially met James. Despite the darkness that was in her life, Casey was drawn to James' lively personality. He made her laugh through stressful times, and at this point, with only having met him a few hours prior, Casey was convinced there was something special, and different about this person. They went their separate ways after Casey's grandfather recovered, without exchanging numbers, emails or facebook requests. Four years passed. James moved to Colorado, and Casey was finishing up her Multimedia degree in Gainesville, having plans to move to the mountains after graduation. The two dated other people during these 4 years, but could not let the thought of the other one out of their minds. On a sweet summer night in Florida, Casey received a message through Facebook, and a friend request following. It was from James. Casey was elated. She thought this was the moment that fate had finally led us to find each other. But it wasn't like that at first. Casey and James were only friends their first year of meeting, after both of them left a hard relationship shortly before reconnecting. On tough days, James would send Casey poems and messages that helped her get through the day. For James, Casey was always there to listen and to offer comfort. The friendship began to bud, and the two would spend every night talking to each other for hours. They would laugh together, and sometimes cry together. Casey knew this was the person she wanted to be with for the rest of her life, but wasn't sure if James' felt the same. Living 2000 miles apart from each other, she wasn't sure how it would work, but her faith stayed strong. One night, Casey finally made the decision to tell James how she felt. She thought, even if he doesn't feel the same way, she was happy he was a friend in her life. She waited in silence for James to respond. After what seemed like an eternity, James proclaimed his mutual feelings for Casey, and in 2016 the two started their long-distance relationship. James' moved back to Gainesville to live with Casey until she graduated. Casey's dreams of living in the mountains were still on her mind. Luckily, she found a mountain man that was also eager to get back to the lush mountain ranges. In 2017, Casey and James sold all of their furniture and belongings, and took a one way flight to Seattle. Six years later, in a tulip field in the fresh mountain air of Skagit Valley, James proposed to Casey. She was his princess. He was her prince. Casey got what she dreamed of those 11 years ago when she met James and kept her hope throughout that the two would one day rejoin and be together. In April of 2022 Casey and James found out they were pregnant with their first child Bash. At 32 weeks in November, Casey was diagnosed with preeclampsia and the fate they had dreaded became true. This was the moment that tested their relationship. But it only brought them closer. Their son, Bash, will always be remembered and will always be a part of their life. He will be with them in spirit on their wedding day. They are so excited to share with all of their family and friends, their happily ever after on July 21, 2023.
