The ceremony will be held on the grounds of Drumtochty Castle. It will be held at the Saint Palladius Church. It is located at the bottom of the road leading up to the castle.
For those of you that aren't staying at the castle, the ceremony will start at 2. Please be there 10 to 15 minute before the start of the ceremony.
During this time of year, Scotland will be mild. You will need light sweaters, hoodies, and jackets. Layers are the way to go. You will also need a raincoat it is the UK and it rains randomly. If you plan to tour and visit Scotland plan to do some walking, so pack your favorite and comfortable walking shoes. Your wedding dress attire and appropriate shoes are also a must. We hope our wedding will be a fun excuse to wear your favorite cocktail attire!
We would appreciate it if the RSVPs were mailed back. If you want to be an overachiever you can RSVP on both.
Since the castle is ours for the night there is no end time.
Edinburgh and Glasgow Airport are an hour from the B&Bs, Hotel, and Cottages that we have provided. Both airports are appropriate to fly in to.
Yes! You will need to get a converter for high powered electronics like hairdryers, curlers, etc. For phone chargers or tablet chargers, adaptors will be just fine. Make sure you get the UK adaptors or converter. Here is a link to one: https://www.amazon.com/CASTRIES-Converter-Universal-Charging-Worldwide/dp/B081C2QBXY/ref=sr_1_19?keywords=uk+power+converter&qid=1579127511&sr=8-19
They use British pound.
My suggestion would be to go to Arundel Mills Mall and by Books-A-Million there is a kiosk that you can exchange your money. The money if there and it is fast and simple no waiting but they do charge a small fee. If you aren't comfortable with that I would go to your bank a month prior depending on what bank it may take longer to get the currency into an exchange. I would not suggest waiting until you get to the airport or even to Scotland to exchange because they tend to charge more.
Yes, feel free to contact your mobile provider and see what they have available. If not you can keep your phone on Airplane Mode, and just use the Wi-Fi, that is provided pretty much everywhere in Scotland. If you have an iPhone you are able to make phone calls and send text over Wi-Fi to loved ones that have iPhones back in the States. Android users you will have to use an alternative source like Facebook Messenger to communicate with others back in the States.
No, of course it's not mandatory to wear a kilt. But if you want to feel more Scottish and get into it, we suggest that you rent and not buy. They are very expensive, cash cash monies! There are rental shops in the town square of Blairgowrie that you can hire one from. But again it is up to you and your preference.
I recommend looking on Google Flights. They show a wide variety of the best priced flight. You will be able to find a good deal.
