If your invitation says "And Guest." If not, the invitation is only for you.

No children under 14 please.

Can I take and post photos at the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we'd love if all guests took photos! HOWEVER ---- we request that you save your photography skills and keep your phones away during the wedding ceremony until we're pronounced husband and wife. We'd love for our professional photos to be unobscured with cellphones and for our guests to simply be in the moment with us. After that, go nuts - we can't wait to see our day from your point of view! Be sure to hashtag them with #WhenLifeGivesYouLaymans so we can keep track of them all!

Is this an indoor or outdoor event?

Answer

It will be completely outdoors and you’ll have to walk through grass and gravel, so we recommend leaving the stilettos at home and being prepared for the weather. Typical August weather in Blackwater Falls is in the 70s but be sure to check!

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony will be taking place at Pendleton Overlook in Blackwater Falls State Park - Davis, West Virginia. Enter "Pendleton Overlook" into the GPS and it will take you to the Pendleton Parking Lot. Follow the paved path at the back corner of the parking lot and then you will see where to veer off to the right into the grass. The reception will take place in the pavilion directly across the street.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

An hour and a half has been allocated for the bride, groom, wedding party, and family to take photos. Guests are invited to go to the reception pavilion where appetizers and drinks will be served, and are encouraged to take photos and enjoy the nearby views.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes there is a large parking lot directly next to our venue.
