David Pernia

Groom

Allyson Kindel

Maid of Honor

Let me set the scene. It was freshman year of college and Hurricane Irma was headed right towards Florida, so I panicked and stayed in a dorm with a girl I had met only once before. That girl’s now my best friend! Over the last five years, we have shared giggles, bad jokes, Just Dance sessions, and lots of God moments and I would not want to share them with anyone else. Then along came David, the love of her life. I am so proud to be standing by their side in this next chapter and watch them grow together through the sacrament of marriage!

Alejandro Munoz

Best Man

I first met David in elementary school. We’ve had some crazy times since then and I am now honored to celebrate my best friend’s marriage. Whether we’re up late talking about life or calling each other to share terrible jokes, David has become a crucial part of my life, as he has to many others. A strong man of conviction and faith, David is now answering the call in Gainesville to serve college students and marry the love of his life. I am blessed to be a small part of that journey. I met Casey during freshman year at UF. She was one of my first friends in college. Whether it was Catan, salsa, or just goofing off, Casey made college so much more memorable. When I introduced Casey and David, I was thrilled that two of my best friends hit it off so well. Little did I know they hit it off THAT well…. Regardless I was thrilled that they began to date, as they both radiate Christ’s love in their relationship. I am so pumped to see what’s to come!

Nicole Busot

Bridesmaid

I met Casey freshman year at UF when she was on the way to class and I ran her over with my scooter. Just kidding, but hope that made you laugh. I met Casey freshman year at a retreat called alpha, but we really became inseparable when we became roommates for the next two years. During that time, we especially bonded over salsa dancing, working out at 6am (I will only ever do this if a friend comes along with me), cooking sessions, doing basically everything together, and just leading each other closer to Christ. So excited to celebrate these two and welcome David into the fam :D

Groomsman

I met David in 2015 (can’t believe its been 7 years) on a weeklong retreat when we were paired up as accountability partners. We got closer hanging out at youth group, playing frisbee, and our encounters with Christ. I’ve been blessed to be his friend for a while and feel even more blessed to be there for when he marries Casey. I’m so pumped for your wedding and can’t wait to be there for this new chapter in both of your lives!

Joana Green

Bridesmaid

I met Casey during my 2nd year of OT school at UF. We were in the same Bible Study, and we bonded over scripture, boba, the Bo Diddley Plaza Farmer’s Market, and all things OT! Little did I know what the Lord had in store for our friendship! Imagine my delighted surprise to find out my little brother was interested in pursuing none other than my sweet Bible Study pal Casey! In case you haven’t guessed yet, my little brother is David. I love a good God-incidence. It’s such a gift to know and love these two, and I am so excited to celebrate their matrimony and welcome Casey into our crazy (but ever so loving) family!

I don't remember when i met David but I do remember the countless meals, conversations, and of course desserts shared over the years. Once Joana and I started dating we really got to know each other. David inspires me through his devotion to his faith and commitment to excellence, as well as his culinary creativity(ask him about the donut smash burger). I met Casey through Joana's Bible study before David and her met. She is hilarious and I can see why she and David work well. She lives a similar devotion and commitment to excellence as David and it shows in their daily prayers that they share together regardless of whether they are together or hundreds of miles apart. Its great to see how they balance serious moments and silly ones.  Praying for a fruitful marriage and for many more late nights of baking/dessert eating!

Natalie MacDougall

Bridesmaid

I had the absolute honor of being Casey’s freshman year roommate after meeting on a dating website (as we love to say), and we quickly became close friends navigating UF together our first year. Being able to grow in our faith through all of the highs and lows of college and beyond is a gift I am grateful for every day, and I cherish our countless memories of joy and shenanigans. I cannot wait to get to see all of the amazing things in store for Casey and David in this new chapter of life!

I am lucky enough to call myself the brother of Casey, the bride. The day she brought David back I knew he was going to be the one, they just worked so well together and since then I have considered David a good friend of mine.

Julianna Love

Bridesmaid

I met Casey when I joined Ascension Youth group my senior year of high school. When I was alone in a room full of people she was the first person to talk to me and welcome me. We became really close after that and she has been my amiga por siempre. My favorite memory with Casey is the summer that we were so determined to get a tan that we spent it frying and re-frying ourselves at the beach and listened to the Mama Mia sound track on repeat. One of the days we got so burnt that we had to put ice packs on our faces when we got home. Did we get sun poisoning…maybe. There is never a dull moment with Casey and she always had the most unexpected ideas that always led to to the craziest adventures and best memories. Casey is a treasure and has a beautiful heart, She is a force to be reckoned with, and to call her my friend is one of my greatest honors. She constantly inspires me through her devotion to her faith and the way with which she loves people with Christ’s heart. I’m so happy for Casey and David and excited to celebrate them on their wedding day!!

I first met David when I was in youth group in high school. Since then he’s become closer than I would’ve first imagined. My brother married his sister which made us basically brothers. However as we’ve come closer David has not only been just my brothers brother in law but a true friend. He’s always pushed me to go further into the uncomfortable especially in my faith. He’s always been there for me and has been a great role model for me. I can confidently say that David is not just my brothers brother in law but truly my own brother, and that without his role in my life I’d be a very different man today.

Jackie Ayers

Bridesmaid

I met Casey in first grade about 17 years ago and we became inseparable! Although we attended different middle and high schools, we were able to stay as close as ever. We have always bonded over bringing our childhood spirit of joy, adventure, love, and curiosity into our adulthood experiences! I am grateful to have had the opportunity to watch Casey fall in love with someone who shares the passion of finding joy in the little things in life, and I can’t wait for their married journey to begin.

David and I met at UM when I got transferred to become the FOCUS missionary at his campus in the fall of 2022. Our desire to serve Christ, our similar sense of humor, love for good food, and the fact that we were both from Nicaragua really helped us grow in friendship and brotherhood. We remained very close throughout the year and now, I can’t believe I get to witness his sacramental union with Casey. Love you guys and may the Lord continue to be the center of your relationship at all times!!

Bridesmaid

Casey & I met on Halloween in our junior year of high school. We were both dressed up as cows, so the friendship was off to an utterly good start. We quickly realized how our core values align. Casey and I share a love for Jesus, learning, fresh fruit, beach days, workouts, and much more. Amidst having different sports schedules, we would meet up late at night for infamous bike nights. We spent hours pouring into each other with encouraging words & prayers. Every season has looked different since graduating from the same high school and progressing through life; however, Casey's friendship is an unwavering constant. She will bless David in this way, as she remains true to herself, her God & her people. I'm thrilled to watch these two who love Jesus, each other, and life begin their journey. It is an honor to be by Casey's side now and always.

I met David in February 2021 shortly after I had moved to Miami with no job or housing lined up and knowing no one there. The Holy Spirit truly provided for me through David, the very first friend I made in Miami. He welcomed me into his friend group, introduced me to the woman I now call my wife, became my roommate, brother, and spiritual companion, and stood by my side at the altar on the day of my wedding. My relationship with David is why friendships should not be measured by length but by depth, and I am so excited to witness what the Lord has in store for David and Casey throughout their vocation and how the power of their vocation will better the world around them!

Nicole Catania

Bridesmaid

I met Casey my junior year at UF when we became roommates before ever even meeting! We hit it off and became besties within days, resulting in a super fun year full of playing ukulele, going on trips, and having conversations full of laughter and smiles. I was lucky enough to have a front row seat to Casey and David’s courtship, and I can’t wait to be with them on this next leg of their journey together!

Groomsman

David and I met at a young age, seeing as we were cousins. Growing up we were very close due to the fact that we both loved soccer. As we got older, we started playing different positions and in different clubs, but every now and then we would meet up to train together. What really brought us close together though was all the sleep overs and hang outs we got to have growing up and all the fun memories we made in those sleepovers and as cousins. Now I am just so excited to see David and Casey get married, I’m glad to see my cousin has found someone that has made him so happy.

Bella Humes

Bridesmaid

Casey & I first met at Ascension Catholic Church in third grade during CCD classes. We became friends shortly after & from then on i’ve loved her like family. Throughout the years we’ve shared many memories, some that made our stomachs hurt from laughing too hard (like the day she got her wisdom teeth removed) and some that resulted in tears, but i’m grateful for both. During our high school years we were on two sports teams together which really brought out the competitive side of Casey (which is great because that’s just another part of her to love), and were in youth group together which eventually led us to going on mission trips to the Dominican Republic to serve. I’ve never seen Casey more in her element than when she’s genuinely doing something she loves around people she loves. I’m forever grateful for our friendship and I’m even more grateful that God brought a loving, respectful, God-fearing man into Casey’s life to love her and marry her! Casey has such a positive impact on everyone she interacts with and I can’t wait to see what the Lord has planned for her and David!
