David and Casey met back in November 2020. Well, if you ask David it’s June 2019, but if you ask Casey it’s November 2020, but that’s another story. David was visiting his best man Ale Muñoz for a few weeks up in Gainesville, and on the first day he was there, Casey and David both went to a group lunch at Korean BBQ across the street from St. Augustine Catholic Church. David nervously sat across from Casey and they started striking up conversation and instantly hit it off. Over the course of the rest of the trip, David and Casey played Catan together almost everyday. On David’s last game night in Gainesville, some good salsa music came on and David decided to put on his dancing shoes and ask Casey to dance. Casey said this was what first swept her off her feet (shoutout to David’s family for teaching him how to dance!) When David got home from Gainesville, he went out of his way to buy a brand new Catan set just so he could send a picture to Casey over Facebook messenger, hoping to strike up conversation. Casey said that what really drew her to David was the way he strives for holiness - when she found out how much he valued God and how he lives out his faith she knew she wanted to be with him! Over the course of the next 2 months, David and Casey got to know each other more and began going on dates. On February 1st, 2021, they made their relationship official. Over the year or so leading to their engagement, they made lots of memories ranging from visits to Miami and Melbourne to zoom dates to Boba tea runs. They grew in deep love for each other and slowly realized how much they desired to spend the rest of their lives together. After much prayer and discernment, David proposed to Casey at the Fiat Center in Gainesville on December 20, 2021.  Since then, they have been happily engaged and eagerly preparing to enter into the sacrament of marriage. While Casey and David enter into this new season of their life, please keep them in your prayers!! They can’t wait to celebrate with the people they love soon :)
