At the top of Vail mountain, there are ziplines, adventure courses, an alpine slide, and more. Take the Eagle Bahn Gondola up (get one free ticket for a child under 12 with each adult ticket purchased), have some lunch - you can pack a lunch or buy food at Bistro Fourteen or Talon's Deck - and explore Vail mountain! There are also hiking trails you can use to get up to the top of the mountain. Berry Picker trail will take you from Lionshead all the way up to Epic Discovery, but be sure to pack extra water as it's a 3.2 mile hike straight up the mountain!
Explore the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens for free (or $10 for a guided tour on Saturday morning). There's also a treasure hunt for kids if you visit the Education Center before you start walking around!
Rent a bike to explore the town of Vail or all the hiking trails! Explore part of the Gore Range Trail for a scenic trail that's not too difficult.
If you have some time on Sunday before heading home, visit the Vail Farmers' Market in Vail Village for some local fare to take home. You'll find eclectic honey, jerky, artwork, and Colorado souvenirs to take home!
Take an evening hike or learn about the constellations on Friday night, go on a mountain hike Saturday, or take a guided tour along the creek Sunday with the Vail Nature Center (the Sunday creek tour starts at the Vail Farmers Market and ends at the Vail Nature Center, all others meet at the Vail Nature Center)!
The kids can burn off some energy before lunch at Pirate Ship Playground at the base of the mountain in Vail Village. For lunch, explore the restaurants in town or pack lunch and have a picnic at the bottom of the mountain!
