We privately eloped on February 27th 2021 in Colorado, so there is no need for a wedding ceremony this time around, but we are so excited to finally celebrate the occasion with all of you with some good food, drinks, and dancing!

I was having a solo sober night out to celebrate 1 year since moving to Colorado, when I was first approached by Casey. We both stood out at the concert venue as neither of us caught the memo about it being pirate themed. He asked me to dance and I politely declined. He was out having a rowdy night with his friends so we were in very different states. As he continued to ask for dances and try to talk (shout) to me over the music my rejections got a bit less polite. I had finally shaken him loose, but after a short while I started to miss him for some reason. He was obnoxious and danced ridiculously, but he was also charismatic and charming. I saw what a good friend he was to everyone around him, and decided he was worth getting to know. I joined his crew after the show where we were able to talk and learn about how much we had in common, particularly our taste in music. We each happened to have spare tickets to upcoming shows the other was interested in, so we tagged along with each other all summer. After months of concerts, dog parks, hikes, and beer flights, I finally gave in to his insisting that we had a lot of potential. Exactly 1,000 days later he proposed, and I am so excited to spend our 5th anniversary together celebrating our marriage!

A few friends invited me to go see a show in downtown Denver because they knew the headliner and wanted to hang out. I had no idea what I was getting into. This show apparently was a pirate themed party! I thought we were the only ones not dressed up as pirates! But one other girl there (Julie) didn’t get the memo either. She stood out of the crowd in a neck high white dress! I was trying to convince my friend to be my wing man but he was to scared to talk to anyone. I told him that it’s easy and I would show him how it’s done. I did have some liquid encouragement! So I walk up to the only girl that stood out of the crowd! It just so happened to be my future wife! When I approached and started talking to her, she told me that she’s here having a sober night by herself! Her roommate was working for the club so that’s why she was there. After getting shut down, multiple times, I kept running into her! We finally got a chance to talk alone and I started to realize that we had a lot more in common. Music, movies, friends! Julie finally agreed to come meet my friends and hang out. I finally got her to dance with me until the end of the show. Afterwards we were gonna head back to golden to keep the party going and I convinced her to come with us. We piled into a Lyft and headed out. One of my favorite moments was when we got to my friends place they greeted her with hugs and open arms. The way she smiled every time they said welcome made my heart melt. This was the beginning of our new adventure together. We started dating only a few months later, and after 1,000 days of talking everyday, being kidnapped for lunches, shows and dog park adventures, I finally mustard up the courage to ask her hand in marriage! And here we are!

+ They grew up 2,510 miles apart & met somewhere in the middle (1,270 from Royal Oak & 1,325 from Arcata) + Casey passes all his mushrooms to Julie, in return Julie gives most of her onions to Casey + Casey has more tattoos than Julie (for now) + Casey is a night owl, Julie is a morning person + Casey never skips a serving of veggies, Julie would rather eat fruit + Julie loves spicy food! Casey can't handle the heat. + Casey is the hopeless romantic of the two + Julie has traveled a lot more, but Casey has lived more places + They both enjoy disk golf, but only Casey is any good at it + They both got to visit Space Camp growing up + They both like beaches, but Casey is an ocean guy, Julie sticks to lakes
