Wedding wine tasting in Offida / Degustazione vini ad Offida
If Ascoli Piceno is one of Italy’s top hidden treasures (and it is), then little Offida, population just over 5000, has to be one of Italy’s top villages. It is a town of lace makers. It has one of Italy’s finest churches, its interior awash in frescoes dating from the 13th century. Some of Italy’s best and lesser known white wines are grown just outside the city limits—and the Piazza al Popolo is full of great architecture, including one of those old, 19th century theaters, cute as a bugs ear, responsible for entertaining the population before the discovery of radio waves. Day trip scheduled for Friday 24th May on a 4x4 bus with 8 seats Departure: Ascoli Pceno, 9am Price: 37.50 per passenger excluding lunch First stop is the Castelluccio plateau, and then we will reach the Accumoli marshes (small natural lakes at 1600 metres above sea level). Castel Trosino
Castel Trosino is a real medieval jewel situated on the top of a travertine cliff made of a single block, which detached itself from Colle San Marco in very ancient times. The castle has a typical medieval aspect: isolated on the top, it is an excellent point of observation, dominating a wide landscape with trails of the "Marchigiano-Ascolano" area.
Castelluccio di Norcia
Castelluccio di Norcia is more than a simple little Umbrian town. Castelluccio is an emotion, a magic place where men and nature blend themselves and find their harmony. The frame in which the town is nestled speaks for itself: Castelluccio di Norcia is located in the heart of Valnerina, inside the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini (Mounts Sibillini National Park). It is situated at an altitude of 1452 meters and at a distance of few kilometers (about 28) from Norcia (PG), on the top of a hill in the middle of a large plateau. The view includes three plains, because the plateau is divided into three sections: Pian Grande, Pian Piccolo and Pian Perduto, for a total of 15 km² surrounded by Sibillini Mounts and dominated by the imponent Vettore Mount with its 2476 meters of height. Every year, during many weeks between May and July, an incredible mosaic of colours breaks the chromatic monotony of the grazing lands and it is able to fill eyes and heart.

Fiastra Abbey Nature Reserve was established to safeguard the lands that belonged to the Cistercians and that have been shaped over the centuries. Here it is still possible to enjoy a pleasant and hospitable environment, that is able to convey the image of a harmonious relationship between human beings and nature. Furthermore, Chiaravalle di Fiastra Abbey offers visitors its almost intact buildings which are still inhabited by the monks, and the opportunity to be involved in an evocative spiritual atmosphere.
Ascoli Piceno
Ascoli Piceno is a picturesque town located in the region of Le Marche in central Italy. Just a stone’s throw away from Umbria and Abruzzo, it is the perfect location to visit all three of these regions with ease. It is filled with architectural charm, boasting a history that dates back before the inception of Rome. Once known as the City of One Hundred Towers, it is covered in travertine, and is home to one of the Most Beautiful Squares in all of Italy, Piazza del Popolo.
Monti Sibillini Natural Park/Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini
The municipalities of Monti Sibillini Park represent a unique occasion to live the wonders of the past in full, and to discover the treasures that have been curated by man throughout the centuries – in part so that they could adapt to their natural environment, wild – and often hostile - as it was. A travel experience in these parts can be akin to roughing it, because realistic, but it is one that is also marked by culture, that is intensely engaging, and that leaves the visitor with unforgettable emotions. The Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini comprises the most elevated mountainous group in the Umbro-Marchigiano Apennines. Its highest peak, Monte Vettore, reaches 8,132 ft above sea level, while its several comune are diffused over the Regions of Umbria and the Marches.
Norcia
The town of Norcia is the largest town of the Nera Valley. During Roman times, the town gained political importance: first, as prefecture and then as a township. Upset by the Longobards and then by the Goths, it later recovered and became an active town during the Middle Ages. Its storical treasures have been damaged for the major part by the very frequent earthquakes which during the centuries devasted the town. In fact the first recorded earthquake dates back to the first part of the 6th century. However, due to a very meticulous restoration, the city is now able to show its original structure, with its splendid medieval architecture. As the town of Cascia, Norcia was the birth-place of a great religious personage: St.Benedict who was the first monk of Christian faith and the founder of the Benedictine order. He lived at the end of the 6th century between prayer and the humility of work, as he himself synthetized in his famous words: "Pray and Work".
Fermo
Fermo is a pleasant and picturesque town in Italy, located in the Marche region along the Adriatic coastline. The town of Fermo rests atop the summit of a hill, overlooking the Tenna River and providing a breathtaking view of the countryside. The antiquity of the town is perhaps its most striking feature; remains of cyclopean walls, ancient architectural sites, and an intricate system of thirty well-preserved Roman cisterns all contribute to the historical richness of Fermo. Acquasanta Terme
A charming town set between the Sibillini Mountains to the north and the Monti della Laga to the south, it occupies the upper valley of the river Tronto and is embraced by dense forests of chestnut, fir, beech and oak. Acquasanta Terme is a generous territory that, as the name of the town reveals, offers precious springs of thermal waters. Known for the healing properties of local sulfur waters since ancient times, but the construction of the modern spa complex dates back to 1780, when Lazzaro Giosaffatti started the work. The waters, sulfureous and salsobromoiodiche, naturally flow at a temperature of 38.6 ° C and are used in the comfortable spa complex for different treatments: the treatment of inflammation of the locomotor system is added to the anthrotherapy treatments, to prevent respiratory disorders, and dermatological treatments.
