We know it takes time and resources to join us, and we are truly grateful to have you celebrating with us. While not required, we recommend planning your stay from Wednesday, May 13 – Sunday, May 17 so you don’t miss any of the festivities. If you'd like to book additional days, please do! Our hotel block allows you to book up to 7 nights.
Cancún International Airport is the best option for direct flights, however you can also fly into Tulum. Both airports are about an hour from the hotel. For airport transportation to and from the hotel, the Barcelo offers a private round-trip transfer for $250. Alternatively, you can take a taxi, which runs about $80-90 each way.
We kindly ask for all of our guests to stay at the hotel we've reserved for the wedding, the Barcelo Riviera Maya (adults only). All events leading up to the wedding will take place at the resort, and guests who do not stay at the property will be unable to attend. Our goal is for our guests to feel like they are on vacation. The all inclusive package ensures all meals and beverage on property are included.
The all-inclusive package features 24/7 access to 16+ restaurants and 5+ bars across the resort complex, including premium liquors. No need to worry about splitting checks or sending Venmo's. We do recommending bringing US cash to tip staff. While it not required, we typically will leave anywhere from $2-5 after a meal. See the full accomodation list below: https://www.mayarivieraadultsonly.com/all_inclusive.asp
There are 5 restaurants on the Riviera property. The Miramar Buffet is where all breakfasts and lunches will be at your leisure (hours are 7am-6pm). For dinners, it is required to make reservations at each of the 4 restaurants. You will make all reservations upon check in (you cannot reserve in advance). Please coordinate with others in your party to determine day and time and ensure that one person is making the reservations at check in. There 4 dinner spots are: Sapporo (Japanese Hibachi) La Comedie (French) Agave (Tex Mex) Dolce Vita (Italian) You do have the ability to go to any of the 16 restaurants across the Barcelo properties that sit next to the Riviera, although the best options will be the ones at our hotel.
We will be getting married at Blue Venado, a private venue just 15 minutes south of the hotel. We will provide transportation to and from the venue.
We will be providing transportation vans through EMVA Transportation to and from the wedding venue. Please meet at the hotel lobby no later than 4:15pm on Friday to take the shuttle to the venue. Vans will be waiting outside the venue, so you will be able to depart the party at your leisure. The last vans will depart back to the hotel around 12:30am. For those attending the rehearsal dinner on Thursday, please meet in the lobby no later than 6:15pm. The shuttles will take us into Playa Del Carmen for dinner and depart back around 11. Feel free to stay out if you'd like! You'll just need to take a taxi back if it's after 11.
Our ceremony and reception will take place on the beach. We kindly request upscale casual attire - polished yet comfortable for a seaside setting. Gentlemen may opt for lightweight dress shirts with slacks or chinos (jackets and ties are not required). Ladies are encouraged to wear cocktail dresses, elegant maxi dresses or dressy jumpsuits. We recommend wedges, block heels, or dressy sandals in place of stilettos, as the celebration will be held on the sand.
Uber does not typically operate in this part of Mexico, but taxis are reliable and safe. The hotel will call you a taxi at the concierge desk if you'd like to go anywhere. You can easily find taxis in Playa Del Carmen downtown, most are located around 5th ave.
