Question

Will the ceremony be Christian? Jewish? Both? Neither?

Answer

The service will be just like Caryn and Jeff; quirky and different! It will have our version of elements common in both Christian and Jewish weddings. Our only goal is that ALL of our guests leave the ceremony with more joy than they came with. We're thrilled to have Pastor Glen Wagner as our officiant with help from people that are very dear to us.

Should military personnel wear their uniform?

Answer

Unless your name is Major Jeffrey A Edgar or Captain Roger N Blomquist, you are not required by the Mother of the Bride to do so! But if wearing it makes you happy....please do!

What should I wear?

Answer

Well, that’s up to you. Black Tie Optional? Dress to impress? Sunday Best?

Are kids welcome? Can I bring someone?

Please refer to your invitation for the number of people invited.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Obviously. Mocktails too.

I'm gluten free/vegetarian/dairy free/nut free. Am I going to starve?

Answer

Sure hope not! The great thing about this venue is that everything is made super fresh on the premises. When you RSVP, please note your dietary needs. Also, at least one of the dessert options will have been made in a dedicated GF facility, clearly marked, and kept separate when served.

Will Lima and Penzey be at the wedding?

Answer

Kind of. But not really.

Are you registered anywhere?

Answer

Yes! Please visit the registry tab. Getting married apparently means that you can upgrade from college-level housewares and mismatched plastic bowls. We so appreciate your generosity as we build our life together!

Are you going on a honeymoon?

Answer

You betcha. We're both running out of PTO for 2024, so we'll do a Fancy Chicago Staycation soon after the wedding and then a honeymoon next spring! Where to? Still not sure.

Will the ceremony be livestreamed?

Answer

Yes! While we wish everybody we've ever met could share in our day with us, we know that's not possible. We'd love to share our day with you, so please check back for the link on the day of the ceremony.

I'm not from here. Where should I go to get dolled up?

Answer

While we pretty much have a monopoly on the salon downstairs from the hotel for Sunday, there are plenty of "primping parlors" within walking distance of Hotel Indigo. Sephora, Ulta, Benefit, Amber Waves, Zazu, Hairitage House. Call and make an appointment! They probably don't do walk-ins.

Should I contact the Bride and/or Groom on the day of the wedding?

I like to sing and have a tenor/bass/super deep singing voice. Need me?

Answer

Want to sing during the ceremony? We have so many sopranos and altos, but we need a few more people to hit the low notes. If interested, reach out to Caryn who will connect you with the music director.
