We met at Shanna's 32nd birthday party in Miami in June of 2021. Shanna was new to Miami looking forward to mingling with new friends from the gym and elsewhere, while Cary was attending the party on behalf of an invite from a mutual friend. We made brief small talk at the party and went our separate ways. You'll have to ask Cary or Shanna for their version of the rest!

While I knew a proposal was in the works, I had no idea when it was coming. It was a calm and quite evening in March around our house. We were having a late dinner at home when Cary asked me if I wanted to go for a walk around the neighborhood. Unlike me, Cary doesn't particularly like neighborhood strolls, so I should have put two and two together, but it went right past me. Little did I know I was ruining his plan. Blissfully unaware and apparently not in the mood for a walk, I casually declined the walk that evening and headed into the kitchen to wash some dishes. The next thing I knew Cary was down on bended knee in the kitchen with a speech. As most woman can probably relate, I couldn't tell you all that was said as I was stunned and might have briefly blacked out. All I know is I said YES, without hesitation. We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating and calling family and friends to share our big news!

We look forward to spending time together and unwinding for a few days right after the wedding in Cancun, Mexico. Once Shanna wraps up her event season for work we will head to South Africa during the summer. We are excited to check off life bucket lists (safari and shark cage diving)!! Later in 2026 we hope to buy a house, likely outside of Miami. We are looking forward to starting a family with more space and a backyard!
