Becky is more than just any old friend— she is my media naranja (in Spanish that translates as “half of an orange” but we use it as our fancy way to say “soul sister”). We became friends in college and she truly is the other half of my orange. We have shared so many tears and laughter together over the years and our friendship/sisterhood has gotten us both through some hard times and some joyous times. Even when time slips by or we lose touch, it doesn’t take much to rekindle our special bond anytime we are together. She is my go-to when I need a prayer warrior, and I’m so honored to have her right by my side as I marry the man I’ve prayed for so long.

Amanda’s Sister— As a firstborn with a little brother to play with for my first few years of life, I was so excited to welcome my little sister into the world. She is an incredible Mama of 4 and probably the best baker I’ve ever personally met. I’m so excited that she finally gets to be the one to stand next to me!

Amanda’s Friend- Jessica and I have been going to church together since 2014 and she was one of the first friends I made in Des Moines. My favorite fun fact about our friendship is how we were commonly mistaken as each other when people were getting to know us. From coffee dates to twinning on Sundays, hiking excursions to ping pong tournaments, we have plenty of ways to keep our friendship growing. Jessica is my trusted go to for a listening ear and she is the friend I can always count on to hold me accountable to my faith and values. Since she was the first person I told about Lance, it’s only fitting that she is by my side when I say, “I do.”

Lance’s Niece - I have always hoped that my future husband would have a sister and that I could include her in my wedding party. I was never able to meet Lance’s sister, Emily, who I’ve heard many remarkable things about— but I’m so honored to have her beautiful daughter walk down the aisle with me in her honor. I’m excited to get to know Natalee better as family!

Amanda’s Friend - Katie is also a good friend from church. We really hit it off a few years ago when our entrepreneurial imaginations went rampant over coffee. She ended up helping me plan a fundraising event for my birthday and we’ve been friends ever since. Katie is one of the most selfless people I know and is honestly the kind of friend that everyone needs in their life. I’m so blessed to have her as my bridesmaid!

Amanda’s Friend- Emily and I share a love for Jesus, Coffee, Essential Oils &… Planning! She is the most detail-oriented friend I have and so I didn’t think twice when someone suggested to find someone to help me coordinate my wedding. I’m honored to have her be a part of the day!

Lance’s Friend -I met Martin for the first time when he came down to deer hunt with a friend. Since then he has been promoted in the military and transferred to Camp Dodge and we usually end up fishing on his drill weekends. We always have great conversations about life and make fun of each other any chance we get.

Lance’s Brother -Growing up Adam and I had very different interests but he was always willing to try new things with me. He is now married and building a life in Oregon. I enjoy every chance I get to talk with him about life now.

Lance’s Friend - when I first met William his roller derby name was “Baby Jesus”. I thought he was pretty crazy doing the roller derby thing. We became closer friends later on and enjoy talking about our various hobbies.

Lance’s Friend - Clinton and I go back to our high school Cross Country days. We used to run all over the countryside and were always competitive. We were also in the National Guard together.

Lance’s Friend - I met Matt while working at Bass Pro Shops. we would always have conversations about hunting and fishing and he struggled with those things in Iowa so I helped him along. He has since moved back to his home state of Michigan, and I attended his wedding last fall.
