Best Man
Nathan met Mitchell at age 5. He lived 5 houses down from Nathan growing up, and has been a close friend ever since. Our families went on many camping trips, and we frequently hung out after school. We once built a trebuchet to launch a flaming shoe into Lake Monroe! We still keep in touch with weekly Halo nights.
Maid of Honor
Renata and Maggie met junior year of high school and became instantaneous friends. From singing Josh Groban every chance they get to a mutual appreciation of crab rangoon she is both the person most likely to get Maggie into trouble and to get her out of trouble too. She is a world traveler and works as a high school french teacher.
Groomsman
Ian met Nathan hours after his birth, and we were fast friends. At least I figure that's what happened, its a bit hazy for me. Growing up we spent our summers traveling the country together in out families annual camping trips. Many of my fondest memories involve us on some trail, or getting caught up in some bit. He is currently a technical theater teacher in Indiana.
Bridesmaid
Maggie met Katie their junior year of high school and Maggie was her unofficial roommate that year and official roommate senior year. From hiding on the rooftop of their boarding school to watch a meteor shower to playing the guitar (Katie plays exceptionally well and Maggie plays) they have been through thick and thin. Katie's daughter, Riley is the flower girl and just recently learned to walk. Now, just like her mother, she is unstoppable!
Groomsman
Connor lived in the room across from Nathan freshman year of college. We quickly bonded over a shared sense of humor, an interest in table top role playing games, and and a shared enthusiasm for Coriolis Effect. Since college, Connor and his wife Carly have hosted Nathan and Maggie, we have hosted them.
Bridesmaid
Savanna was Maggie's preceptor when she started her first nursing job in the medical ICU. She is one of the most fair-minded and conscientious people Maggie has ever met. She helped guide Maggie as her preceptor and the entire medical ICU as the charge nurse through the pandemic. She's now training to be a Nurse Anesthetist at UNCG and is exactly who you'd want to help you through surgery or an emergency.
Groomsman
Nathan and Sterling met Freshman year of college. We spent every year after Freshman year as next door neighbors in the Lambda Chi fraternity house. He was key in keeping many of us together after COVID abruptly ended our senior year, by hosting online board game nights. We keep in touch with one of the weekly game nights he set up over 5 years ago.
Bridesmaid
Maggie met Red as a nurse in the medical ICU in 2020. Red has the biggest heart and is always looking out for others. She was also famous for taking the longest at charting because she helps all of the staff and all of the patients on the unit before she sits down at a computer. Fun Red facts: she and Savanna have matching tattoos, she loves all things Ireland, and she has great taste in music.
Groomsman
Jeff was a Mechanical Engineer in Nathan's year in university, and was in the same fraternity. We were frequent teammates and study partners. Outside of class, we spent many an evening playing sets in Super Smash Brothers. He was a coworker of Nathan's for three years after college while living in the Chicago suburbs.
Bridesmaid
Maggie met Misty as a nurse in the medical ICU in 2020. Misty taught Maggie how to adapt to night shift and they had many long conversations at 3:00am. She is now a very happy day shift palliative nurse practitioner and is the sporty one of the group. She is the only one of Maggie's bridesmaids who can actually talk about football!
Groomsman
Nathan met Foster in his Freshman year Dungeons and Dragons campaign. He was a fellow mechanical engineer and fraternity brother as well. We spent hours together in the fraternity house's theater room watching eachother play single player games, or playing co-op together. He now works designing the manufacturing programming for a John Deere facility. He is the best gamer in the wedding party. He and Nathan took many trips to downtown Chicago while I lived in the suburbs.
