Another coffee staple in the area. Try out Mixed Company in Crosby, MN. Along with their amazing beverages they also have home made pastries that are to die for.
Mille Lacs Lake
Just a short drive from Aitkin, Mille Lacs Lake is one of Minnesota's largest lakes and a popular destination for fishing, boating, and water sports. The lake is known for its walleye fishing and offers numerous resorts and public access points.

Looking for good eats? Try out Block North in downtown Aitkin. Or try out their other location next door for some good pizza, Block North's Locker Room. Either way you won't be disappointed. It also won't be a trip to either of those spots if you don't get Carter's favorite: Bread Pudding!

Located a bit further out but worth the trip, the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area is a premier destination for mountain biking, with over 50 miles of trails. The area also offers opportunities for hiking, scuba diving in clear mine lakes, and camping. The scenic beauty and outdoor activities make it a favorite for adventure seekers.
