Question

Why Key Largo, FL?

Answer

We vacationed at Baker's Cay Resort in Key Largo in 2018 and had the best time enjoying the freshest seafood, unbelievable sunsets and laid back lifestyle that the Florida Keys is known for! We decided that we would always return to Key Largo whenever we could and the Florida Keys would become our family vacation spot when we had our own family. When we started planning our wedding, it was a no-brainer that we should bring our closest friends and family to experience the amazing sunsets, picturesque beaches and delicious food (not to mention Key Lime Pie!) that we fell in love with. We want to share a place that has become so special to us with all of you and we know you'll love it too!

Question

What is the weather like in Key Largo?

Answer

Temperatures in May usually average between 70-80 degrees, however, the humidity makes it feel closer to 75-85 degrees. Plan for mostly sunny skies but don’t be too surprised if there is a pop up shower - it usually moves on pretty quickly and you can get back to enjoying your toes in the sand!

Question

What about COVID?

Answer

The health and safety of our loved ones is of the utmost importance to us. While we will not require vaccination to attend our celebration, we do recommend those who are not fully vaccinated to wear a mask as recommended by the CDC. See Bakers Cay website for more information on how the hotel is managing the risk of COVID-19. We have designed our event to remain small to minimize the risk of COVID-19 spread, however, part of our celebration will take place indoors, so we encourage our guests to make the best choice for their own personal safety and the safety others. There is a local Walgreens store offering free COVID-19 testing for anyone who would like to get tested. Visit walgreens.com for more information.

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

See our Travel page for recommendations!

Question

What day should I plan to arrive?

Answer

To make the most of your trip, we recommend arriving on Friday, May 13th. We've built in some leisure time for our guests to explore Key Largo, however, we understand that may not be possible for everyone, so we suggest arriving no later than Saturday evening.

Question

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Answer

While we love your children, we want this to be a vacation for you too! Our wedding will be an adults-only affaire, so we hope you can take this as an opportunity to let loose and enjoy the party with us!

Question

Can I bring a + 1?

Answer

While we would love to include everyone in our celebration, we are limited in the number of guests we can accommodate. If your invitation does not say "and guest", we have only included one seat in your RSVP.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal/beach-formal: Ladies: Cocktail dress or dressy jumpsuit. Men: Linen pants or slacks (no ties required). We will have a shoe concierge for our beach ceremony, should you wish to wear shoes that are not good in sand!

Question

I rented a car. Will there be parking?

Answer

Yes! Bakers Cay Resort offers both valet (included in the resort fee for overnight guests) and self parking. The ceremony and reception will be taking place on the “Hammock” side of the resort.

Question

What time can I check in?

Answer

See hotel website or your confirmation letter for the most up to date check in and check out information.

Question

Can I stay at the hotel longer?

Answer

We would LOVE for you to extend your stay! Should you choose to arrive on Friday night or stay an extra night on Monday, please make your reservation using the link and then email Jennifer Kendall at jkendall@bakerscay.com with your confirmation number to adjust the check in or check out date.

Question

Will there be designated smoking areas?

Answer

Bakers Cay Resort is an environmentally cautious hotel. The hotel does not allow smoking inside the guest rooms (including balconies) or in any of the event areas (including the outdoor balcony and beach). Please see a front desk associate to direct you to a designated outdoor smoking area.

Question

Are there extra fees for the hotel?

Answer

A few things to make note of: Taxes (12.5%) and the Resort Fee ($15 per night) are not included in the nightly rate. You will see the total cost of your stay before you complete your reservation. You will not be charged anything until you arrive at the hotel. The hotel will hold an incidental charge of $100 per room, per night to cover ancillary charges. Please be prepared to not have access to these funds as they will not be released until 3-5 business days after departure and the availability of the funds will be at the discretion of your bank or credit provider. It's important to note that debit cards usually take longer for the funds to become available once they are released from the hotel.

Question

Will I need to pay for the hotel up front?

Answer

The short answer is no! You will be charged upon check in. Please see the note regarding incidental charges above. At check in, the front desk will verify your check-out date. Rates quoted are based on check-in date and length of stay. Should you choose to depart early, price is subject to change. You can cancel without penalty (we hope you don't have to!!) up until May 11, 2022. If for any reason you need to cancel please do so before this date so you can avoid any cancellation charges.
