Our story begins June of 2018, the day we were getting a physical examination for the upcoming school year for cheer at Evangel University. Ironically, we looked at each other, and really that was about it. Seems pretty anticlimactic, but I promise it gets better. Come August our freshman year, we began talking with one another. Conversations were minimal and primarily took place at practice. Over time (after Carter's concussion) we began eating breakfast with peers in the commons area, which became something we did often. We talked all the time on snapchat, or whenever we saw each other really. Carter and I were close friends our freshman year and only continued to grow closer. Carter picked on me often, but nonetheless, I stood my ground. There were a handful of events that took place that truthfully impacted our relationship as friends. However, the day Carter texted our group chat "I am out with the flu and was wondering if anyone could take me to CVS to get my medicine" I opened my phone as fast as I could and responded "I can" even though I had class shortly after. From that moment on, I knew that I loved him, but I didn't know why. Fast forward to June of 2020, I messaged Carter after not talking to him for some time. In that moment, I needed to talk to him (so bad I almost drove to Table Rock Lake from Sedalia). He responded, and as they say, one thing led to another. Now here we are, getting married and so, so excited for ourselves and our future together. The truth is, our story is everything we could ever want it to be. We were best friends and have made so many memories together, the good, the bad, and the ugly. We persevered through everything and still chose one another each and every time. Our story began at Drury University, right down Drury Lane and we wouldn't have it any other way.
