Called "the Strip" due to its shape (a strip of land along the water), this is Sarah's favorite way to spend a Saturday or Sunday morning in the city. There's a mix of old-school grocers from all different cuisines (Middle Eastern, Asian, Italian, and much more), gourmet food spots, Pittsburgh sports memorabilia galore, and trendy eateries, some of which are already listed here. Great spots include Enrico's biscotti, S&D Polish Deli (pierogis are a Pittsburgh classic), Salem's Halal Market & Grill, Mancini bread company, Pittsburgh Popcorn, and the ultimate Pittsburgh food mecca: a sandwich at the original Primanti's.
To be clear, this is a contemporary art museum located in a former mattress warehouse. This museum focuses on installation art - the Yayoi Kusama room is a must-see! We went here on Scott's very first visit to Pittsburgh. [Located on the North Side]
