FAQs

The Wedding Website of Carson McBride and Zoe Thuesmunn
Question

What should I wear for the wedding weekend? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is optional. As a guideline, our rehearsal dinner is semi-formal/cocktail attire and the wedding itself is formal holiday attire. See the above collage for optional inspiration for wedding day dresses. For men, think suits, and consider shirts or ties in the color guide. The color guide is as follows if you would like to dress on theme, but is optional: black, silver, gold, dark reds, and dark greens. Keep in mind the ceremony, while brief, will be taking place outside with weather expected to be between 30 and 40 degrees. There is no dress code for any other events on the wedding weekend schedule, so after the ceremony day, you're free to wear whatever you wish! Probably something cozy for cabin and winter times.

Question

Who is going to be here when?

Answer

Family is going to be with us for all four nights. Some friends traveling from out-of-state are going to be staying with us for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. Other friends are going to be with us just for the wedding day and staying over for that night. All are invited to sleep in the cabins.

Question

How should I prepare for the weather?

Answer

If you will be driving and are new to Washington, see the Travel tab for our suggestions on winter weather advisories in the Cascades. The weather will consistently be around 30 degrees Fahrenheit, so you'll need to pack warm clothes, layers and a heavy jacket.

Question

Where will the ceremony and reception happen?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors near the pond, or inside the lodge in case of inclement weather. The reception will be held inside the main lodge.

Question

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

Yes! We are leaning into Christmas holiday loosely, hence the colors. See the collage for inspiration and specific colors to think of bringing. There will be Christmas-y activities over the weekend, and Leavenworth will be in full Christmas spirits.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

See the RSVP tab in the navigation bar at the top of the site.

Question

Where should I park? Is it free?

Answer

There is a large onsite parking lot, and it is free.

Question

Do I need to pay for my room at the lodge?

Answer

No, we have already paid for both lodges for the entire time period.

Question

Am I going to have a room in one of the lodges to myself?

Answer

Depending on total RSVPs the younger generation guests may end up sharing bedrooms, particularly on the night of the wedding where there will be more guests. Family members staying for the whole 4 days will have the remaining nights in separate rooms per couple.

Question

Are there room assignments?

Answer

Yes, but we won't be able to tell you precisely where you will be until we have all our RSVPs.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have to maintain a small guest list to keep our room arrangements comfortable. You may only bring who is mentioned by name on your letter invitation.

Question

Where is the registry?

Answer

Coming soon!

Question

What is the picture taking policy?

Answer

We DO encourage taking photos at all times other than the ceremony! During the wedding ceremony, please do not take photos and keep phones away. Our photographer will take them and we ask that you do not bring out phones to take pictures for yourself during the ceremony. For all other times, we will have a wedding weekend Google Photos drive where we can all upload photos that we take during the wedding weekend!

Question

Will we be going to see Leavenworth?

Answer

If you want to go explore Leavenworth the best day would be Monday after the wedding weekend, because there will be fewer crowds there when compared with the weekend. However, our scheduled is flexible and you can go whenever you want! If you have time Friday or Saturday morning you can take a stop to check out the town. We hope everyone can see what this area has to offer!

Question

What are the names of the two lodges we'll be staying in?

Answer

Ponderosa and Pines.

Question

What day is the wedding day?

Answer

Saturday, December 10th. You can check our work-in-progress Schedule tab which will be the source of truth on when events are taking place.

Question

What food will be provided?

Answer

There will be catered food provided by the venue for both the rehearsal dinner and wedding day. We will also purchase some communal snack in bulk ahead of time.
