Like many other couples these days…Carson and I met on the dating app Hinge. It was an ordinary day that turned into a day of texting and giggles on both sides. I was home for the 4th of July in Shelby and Carson was traveling the Wild West with his family. As they were closing their trip to an end and traveling back to their hometown of Maryland, I was heading back to Charlotte where I lived at the time. When he told me he lived in Maryland I thought, “Well there goes this guy.” He gladly assured me he actually lived closer in Hudson NC, only an hour drive to my apartment….(I looked it up right away) We continued texting until Carson made the first move and said he wanted to visit. I was apprehensive but agreed he could. We planned for a day and Carson, the gentleman he is, drove to Charlotte. The minute I opened the door I fell in love. We spent the day together laughing and telling stories like we were friends from back in the day. When the evening was over, we wished for more time. To my surprise he said he would drive back down the next night after work to see me again. As I was hiding my blushing cheeks, I tried to say a cool, “Yeah sure sounds good.” He kept his promise and returned the next evening for dinner. At this point in our relationship our story of first meeting ends. Because the minute I opened the door the second time…it wasn’t new anymore. He was my person. Time went on with lots of adventures. We decided to move in together after a year of dating. We now have 3 wonderful dogs named Murphy, Tucker, and Levi. Our family has grown and so has our continued love for each other.
