Home of the famous Kentucky Derby. The spring meet features thoroughbred racing several days a week (typically Thursdays through Sundays). Churchill Downs also has a variety of dining options including: The Turf Club, Winner’s Circle, and The Loft.
Kentucky Derby Museum
Located right next to Churchill Downs, you can explore the racetrack, try out a jockey simulator, and learn all about the famous horse race.
Kentucky Bourbon Trail Visitor Center
If you’re up for some fun and tasting, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail is a must! Just a short drive from Louisville, you can visit some of the world’s most famous distilleries, learn how bourbon is made, and enjoy a few samples. It’s a great way to experience a true Kentucky tradition!
Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
See how the iconic bats are made, check out cool memorabilia, and even hold bats used by some of the game’s greatest players.

Originally a Brooklyn favorite, Wheated opened its only other location right here in Louisville in 2024. They serve incredible wood-fired, NYC-style pizzas.
