Travel Note
The two major airports in the Bay Area are San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK). Major airlines fly into both airports but SFO is bigger and has (usually) less expensive flights. In addition to being (usually) more expensive, flights to OAK are on a more limited schedule. Several discount airlines, like Southwest, fly into OAK and you may be able to get a lower fare. Travel time from OAK (23 miles vs 34 from SFO) to the wedding hotels will be shorter. Both airports are impacted by rush hour and Friday/Saturday evening traffic, but SFO is worse. However, both airports have BART train stations, which you can take to hotels via the Antioch line (get off at Lafayette station for the Lafayette Park Hotel and Pleasant Hill Station for the Renaissance Club Sport). The hotels are a 5 minute Taxi/Uber/Lyft ride from BART (1/3 mile walk to the Club Sport). Expect about 1.25-1.5 hours on BART from either airport to either hotel, door to door.
