Question

What if I am not Catholic?

Answer

Marriage is the first sacrament of the church that has its roots in Genesis. Marriage is also referred to as one of the closest reflections of the Holy Trinity. The unification of two people spiritually, emotionally, and physically has been in God's plan since the very beginning. Therefore, the focus of the day is on the marriage sacrament and the lifelong covenant between God, Carrie, and Matthew. We want you all to enjoy this great sacrament with us, while remembering that the sacrament is the reason we are gathered together. Regarding the Eucharist, this is the source and summit of the Catholic faith. We believe that the bread and wine truly become Jesus' body, blood, soul, and divinity that we receive at every Mass. This is the most important part of our faith, and is held with the most respect. If you are not Catholic, we ask respectfully that you do not receive our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. You may come forward with your arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing. We are so very happy that you are here celebrating with us, and we appreciate your understanding of this sacred part of our faith. We are so happy to share these wonderful sacraments with you!
