Burlington Favorites
Early in our relationship, we took frequent long weekend trips to Burlington and fell in love with the city. If you're interested in visiting, it's only a ~1.5 hour drive from Lake Morey Resort and offers plenty of small city New England charm. Stowe Favorites
When we weren't spending time in Burlington, you could likely have found us hiking or hanging in Stowe. While known for its skiing, there is plenty to do in late summer/early fall as well! Things to do: - Mini golf at Stowe Golf Park - Explore the shops in downtown - Visit the Ben & Jerry's factory - Sample cheese at the Cabot Creamery store - Taste the cider donuts at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill Things to eat: - Prohibition Pig - Butler's Pantry Breakfast & Dinner - von Trapp Brewing & Bierhall Things to drink: - The Alchemist Brewery - von Trapp Brewing & Bierhall - Idletyme
Favorite Breweries
Vermont has the most craft breweries per person of any state in the country! For the craft beer enthusiasts in the group, Hill Farmstead Brewery (403 Hill Rd, Greensboro Bend, VT 05842) is widely considered one of the best breweries in the world, and is well worth the ~1hr drive. Lake Morey Resort also has their flagship IPA on tap! Other local favorites not already mentioned above include: - Harpoon Brewery (Windsor, VT) - Lawson's Finest Liquids (Waitsfield, VT) - Schilling (Littleton, NH) - Long Trail (Bridgewater Corners, VT) - River Roost (White River Junction, VT)
Favorite Hikes
For the hikers in our group, Lake Morey Resort is perfectly situated between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Some of our favorite hikes are less than a 2 hour drive from the resort. These include: Sterling Pond and Spruce Peak (VT, our first hike together!), Camel's Hump (VT), Mt. Abraham (VT), Mt. Mansfield (VT), Franconia Ridge (NH), North Kinsman & Lonesome Lake (NH).
