Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We want all of our guests to look and feel their best on this exciting day. The dress code will be formal/black tie optional. For women, this means floor-length gowns or sophisticated cocktail or midi dresses, opting for lighter colors, pastels, or soft muted tones to embrace the season. Alternatively, a dressy pantsuit can also be a stylish and comfortable option. For men, this means a dark suit in colors like navy, charcoal, or gray, paired with a white or light dress shirt, tie, and oxford dress shoes. All black tie attire is also acceptable. Please feel free to incorporate late summer touches with accessories like a floral tie or a linen pocket square. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about the dress code!

Are children invited?

Answer

While we welcome and encourage those of you with families to enjoy a vacation at Lake Morey Resort together, we have chosen not to include children in our ceremony and reception. We recognize that a number of our friends and family have young children (under 18) and want to bring them along for the weekend and we encourage you to do so! We are exploring babysitting services for use during the ceremony and reception if there is enough interest. Please reach out to Carrie or Joe if you are interested in on-site babysitting services during the wedding.

Will the wedding be outside?

Answer

Yes! All wedding festivities will take place outside. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be uncovered, rain or shine, on the grass and brick patio by the lake. The reception will be covered, under a tent on grass on the front lawn.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are hoping to celebrate with as many of our loved ones as possible. Due to limited availability, we ask that you do not bring a plus one unless stated on your invitation.

How do I book a room?

Answer

Please see the 'Travel' tab at the top of the page for additional information! You can book a room at Lake Morey Resort as a part of our discounted room block online or by phone. If you would like to stay off-site, we recommend looking for hotels in Lebanon, NH, Hanover, NH, or White River Junction, VT.

Will there be alcohol?

Of course! One of Joe's only requests for the wedding was to have an open bar with extra bar staff.

Can I take photos?

Answer

We would like to strongly request you refrain from taking photos during our ceremony. When we look out at all our beautiful friends and family, we want to be able to see your faces, not your phones! We have a very talented photographer who will be taking professional photos for us the entire weekend. Outside of the ceremony, you are encouraged to take as many photos as you like.

Will transportation be provided to and from the wedding venue?

Answer

We hope that most, if not all, of our guests will be able to stay at Lake Morey Resort for the wedding weekend to maximize the time we get to spend together and minimize the need for travel. At this time we are not planning to provide transportation for guests staying off-site.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

We aim to begin our ceremony at 5:00 PM, so we ask that you please be seated for the ceremony by 4:45 PM.

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is ample parking for guests at Lake Morey Resort.

Will there be vegetarian or vegan meal options available?

Answer

Yes, please include any dietary restrictions in your RSVP so we can be sure to honor them.

Yes, Lake Morey Resort is handicap accessible.

What is the weather like this time of year?

Answer

Mid-August in Vermont usually includes warm days and cool evenings, with average high temperatures around 75°F and lows around 56°F. The reception tent will not be heated, so please plan to bring a sweater just in case. Don't forget to bring a bathing suit (or two) to enjoy the lake!
