we are getting married!

Dylan and Carolyne met in early 2022 when his fraternity, Alpha Sigma Phi, and her sorority, Alpha Phi, were paired together for Iowa State University’s Greek Week. One of the highlights of Greek Week is Lip Sync, a competition where each fraternity–sorority pairing creates a dance routine to showcase the pillars of Iowa State’s Greek community. At one of the first practices, partners were assigned—and thanks to Brooke Buchanan, the Lip Sync co-chair and now one of Carolyne’s bridesmaids—Dylan and Carolyne were paired together. With practices three times a week throughout the spring semester, Dylan, Carolyne, and their friends had plenty of time to get to know one another. Soon, their group’s hangouts extended beyond rehearsals, whether meeting up at Cy's on the weekends or gathering at Alpha Sigma Phi for parties. During this time, Dylan developed a strong interest in Carolyne, though she was a little slower to return the feelings (something they laugh about now!) Their first date finally came in October, when Dylan took Carolyne to a pumpkin patch. From there, it was a slow burn, but Dylan’s persistence, warmth, and humor eventually won Carolyne’s heart. On December 17, 2022, he asked her to be his girlfriend, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. In June 2025, Dylan proposed under the guise of a dinner date in Okoboji, later surprising Carolyne with a celebration that included both of their parents and some close friends. They are beyond excited to become husband and wife and cannot wait to share this milestone with the people who mean the most to them. P.S. Want to see where it all began?
